Jennifer grew up in the ghettos of Norwalk and Bell, California from ages 7 to 15. While the areas had high crime, she enjoyed playing basketball in parks and with neighbors. Living there taught her to be less fearful and appreciate what matters most. Her first home was small but comfortable, and she has fond memories there like a talking doll that scared her into giving up dolls for sports. In Bell, there were many activities she participated in where her team always placed at least third, and the friendly police enforced curfew loosely for the well-behaved kids.
