2. Mike McCue [Founder of Flipboard] explained the reason for starting
on the iPad as they did as well as their vision of ‘total social
integration’. Flipboard is BIGGER than just the app. He also
announced the launch of the Flipboard iPhone app and showed us the
main features, which I must say, really looks great!
3. Kevin Systrom [Cofounder Instagram]. Instagram is at the tip of the
‘Iceberg’ from where they want to be. The app changes they world
and it is beyond just using filters. They started with iPhone since the
lenses are superior, but the android app is imminent. (Though no real
timeframe could be given).
4. Joanna Shields [VP marketing Facebook]. She announced the
‘subscribe’ plug in, something that will have some impact I guess
Facebook connecting all of the internet. Or as she puts it; Making
the world more open and connected
5. Eric Schmidt [Executive Chairman Google] Who let Hugo Barra give
an Android Icecream Sandwich demo, giving nothing but sarcastic
remarks himself. He also stated the necessaty for Silicon Valley to
have a counterpart. European cities being likely candidates, young
people, strong networks, right environment
6. Yves Behar [Founder of Fuseproject] One of my favorites here at
Leweb. Stating that design will help the adoption of ideas, as well
that visualizing ideas will make them come to live.
7. Ramon DeLeon [Managing partner of 6 Domino Pizza stores in
Chigaco] On the business stage He gave a practical lesson in #wow
( or so he calls it :) ) social media marketing, with some great Domino
examples.
8. Niklas Zennstrom [Cofounder of Atomico investfirm] with some
startup advice. Nowadays apps make it easier to monetize your
services, it also helps you to start with less investment. Still timing
and a good team are critical for a startup to succeed.
9. Sean Parker [Managing partner at the Founders Fund] Although not to
enthusiastic and wearing great high heeled boots, he did give some
sound startup advice; there is two main ingredients, Ideas with
potential and a great team. Place great talents around great ideas
only than will VC’s take notice.
