Task Force Purposes To jointly evaluate coastal issues of concern To promote environmentally sound economic development  To develop, prioritize and implement coastal projects To leverage and maximize state and federal grant funds To mutually support Task Force grant applications To improve public access, develop environmental education programs, construct park facilities, restrooms, boat ramps and maintain the Port Mansfield Channel

TPWD Parks Master PlanSpecial Issues Park Maintenance– How will County and other governments maintain new and existing parks and recreation facilities? Development of County Park Standards – the physical standards will be used to gauge progress and facility development under the Master Plan Adoption - PARC Recommends Master Plan Adoption by both County and WC Navigation District  to allow refinement of local priorities

Coastal Impact Assistance ProgramUpdate ”
Coastal Impact Assistance Program Purpose:  A Federal Program to offset” the “coastal impact” of offshore oil and gas industry in Willacy County County CIAP Funds  FY07:  $488,561  FY08:  $488,561  FY09:  $382,000 (estimated) FY10:  $378,000 (estimated)
Eligible CIAP Projects Conservation, protection, or restoration of coastal areas, including wetlands 		 Mitigation of damage to fish, wildlife, or natural resources 	 Planning assistance and the administrative costs  Implementation of a federally-approved marine, coastal, or comprehensive conservation management plan 	 Onshore infrastructure projects and public service needs
  County FY07 Projects *  Conceptual Park Site Plan will Support TPWD Outdoor Recreation Grant up to $500,000 to leverage FY09/10 CIAP Funds.
