4. IES <VE> Virtual Environment
Typical 3D Models created using VE ModelIT software.......
What is Virtual Environment software?
IES <VE> offers the most comprehensive suite of whole-building energy, thermal and carbon emission analysis
tools on the market. It enables the interrelated dynamics of a building and its surroundings to be assessed so
designers can understand the effectiveness of a building and its energy systems right from the earliest stages of
design – quickly and easily.
The software enables us to build a model with or without CAD data. We can create a 3D model from scratch or
from imported 2D DXF data within the ModelIT application.
Here at Energy Solutions Consultants we have just began work on modelling a large NHS hospital to produce an
accurate energy report and EPC.

7. CADmep+
Typical 3DModels created using CADmep+ software.....
What is CADmep+?
CADmep+ loads as an approved application from within AutoCAD. CADmep+ contains HVAC, mechanical, public
health fitting and equipment libraries based on leading manufacturer's products. There are also electrical
containment and structural steel libraries. CADmep+ has a proven track record on major construction projects and
is used by all disciplines from design and build through to facilities management.
Here at Energy Solutions Consultants we have recently completed the 3D models of energy centre, service duct
and basement areas at the new Fife Acute hospital in Kirkcaldy. On going prospects include Mosshill Data Centre in
Ayr and an Anaerobic Digestion Plant in Lanarkshire.
11. Anaerobic Digestion
What is Anaerobic Digestion?
Anaerobic digestion is a process by which certain kinds of
bacteria break down biodegradable material in the
absence of oxygen. This useful biological process is often
used for waste management. Organic wastes are
collected in a tank sealed off from oxygen, and anaerobic
bacteria are added, resulting in useful end products
including fertilizer and methane-based biofuel.
Here at Energy Solutions Consultants we are currently
working on a new Anaerobic Digestion plant in
Lanarkshire in conjunction with a confidential client. The
plant when complete will be the first of it’s kind to be
built in the UK using only food wastes.

13. CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme
What is the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme?
The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme (formerly known as the Carbon Reduction Commitment) is the UK's mandatory
climate change and energy saving scheme, due to start in April 2010. It is central to the UK’s strategy for improving
energy efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, as set out in the Climate Change Act 2008. It has
been designed to raise awareness in large organisations, especially at senior level, and encourage changes in
behaviour and infrastructure.
The scheme's amended title serves to better reflect the CRC’s focus on increasing energy efficiency.
Here at Energy Solutions Consultants we currently involved in various prospects in the public, private, commercial,
utility and healthcare sectors.
