Taipei 101 is a 101-story skyscraper located in Taiwan that began construction in 1997 and took over 6 years to complete. It stands 509 meters tall and contains 557 steel columns, 65,000 tons of concrete, and special vibration dampers to withstand earthquakes. The architect designed Taipei 101 to be a tall, safe, and seismic-resistant building with fast elevators.
