Anne FrankAnne Frank Beyond the Diary Book by: Ruud van der Rol and Rian Verhoeven Presentation by: Molly Brown
Time Line In February 1934, the Frank family moves to Amsterdam. This is courageous of Anne because it is scary for most little girls to move to a place where they don’t know anybody but their family. On July 6, 1942, the Frank family goes into hiding in the Secret Annex at 263 Prinsenggracht. This is courageous of Anne because going into hiding from Nazi soldiers trying to kill you would be scary to everyone especially children. Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929. On June 12, 1942, Anne receives a diary for her thirteenth birthday.
Time Line On November 16, 1942, Fritz Pfeiffer Moves into the Annex. This is couragous of Anne because it is nerve wracking to have another random person move in with you. On July 13, 1942, the Van Pels family joins the secret annex. This is couragous of Anne because she doesn’t know the new family and would find it nerve wracking to have another random person living with you while you’re in hiding. On August 4, 1944, all the families are found.
Time Line Everyone in the camp is sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp. This is courageous of Anne because she does’t know what the new camp will be like and doesn’t know if it will be better or worse than the one before. In August 1944 everyone is discovered in the Secret Annex and are taken to the Westerbork Concentration camp. This is courageous of Anne because Anne knows that not only she could be killed, but she could lose many loved ones as well. In October 1944, Anne and her sister Margot are taken to the Bergen- Belsen Camp. This is courageous of Anne because they are being separated from loved ones possibly never to be seen again.
Time Line In the summer of 1947, the diary is found and published. In March 1945, Anne and Margot die in the Bergen-Belsen camp. This was courageous of Anne because I would guess that it would be very hard for her to step into a gas chamber and prepare to die.
ColorCollage Chatty Anne talked a lot during class which earned her a lot of extra homework. Jealous Anne was always jealous of her older sister Margot because people thought Margot was smarter and prettier than Anne. (Page 27) Popular Anne always had many friends including Eva Goldberg, and SanneLedermann. (page 24) Deep Anne would write in her diary every day sharing her thoughts and feelings. Intelligent Anne had a perfect report card except for a poor grade in algebra. (page 360)
Franks Culture Club This is a place where people of all religions can all get together and discuss their religions and cultures. By having knowledge about our differences and an understanding of what we have in common would help us to appreciate one another. During WWII there were people who just followed and didn’t question Hitler and his ideals. I think an open forum of discussion in a club such as this would have made people question what Hitler was trying to do. Anne would have loved a place like this where she can express her culture and not go into hiding just because some man says that her religion is forbidden
Award of Recognition Most Courageous Writer We hereby present Anne Frank With this Award of Recognition, in appreciation of your thoughtful diary reflections. You wrote about your simple life during a challenging time. You offer a first hand account of being Jewish during the time of WWII. Your courage and ability to stay positive during such a negative time is an inspiration to us all, awarded this 30th day of March 2011. Molly Brown Student of Mrs. Bierers homeroom
