3. For Me
I am a girl I hate shopping I hate visiting stores
4. You Know Why ?
I didn't have a clue till I finished this project
After I paid attention while going through stores,
Here is what I found out !!
5. I visited 9 stores; 5 clothes store, 2 shoes stores, 1
scarf store and 1 accessories store
6. Shop Appearance
All stores' doors were opened
2 stores have invisible signs
Other stores have nice visible signs
7. Environment - 1
Ceiling is medium high
Most stores used a contrasted color either in floor
or walls
Floor is either white tiles or marble.
8. Environment - 2
1 store was extremely brightly lit, which was
annoying and repulsive for me
Only 1 store played soothing music, others were
just quiet
1 store was cold, 2 stores were hot and others
were normal
Only 1 store had distinctive smell
Cash register is always near the door
No store had security
I would stay between 2 – 10 minutes in each store
9. Personnel
Salesperson initiates contact either immediately
or whenever you request him
Most salespeople have a script to follow with
customers
Employees are 20-30 years old
None of the salespeople had a uniform
10. Products - 1
Usually I noticed what is in front of the door first
There were no free samples or demonstrations
Products with average price are located at eye-
level
“for sale” items are located at the center of the
store
11. Products - 2
Last season and less colorful items are located at
the end of the store
Prices were clearly visible on products like clothes
only
Some items were
arranged based on
function only, which
lead to an awful
presentation
12. Products - 3
Other items were arranged based on function and
color, which had better presentation
13. Products - 4
Other items were just piled together, which had
the worst presentation
14. So, here is why I hate shopping
When I go shopping, I search for specific items
Few stores are well-designed so I can find what I
search for in no time
Stores with bright lights drive me crazy :)
Salespeople by your side all the time is irritating
for me
I automatically overlook piled products, which is
the case in most stores
Hot and normal stores are unbearable when
crowded with customers
