Umm Sulaim was married to Abu Talha and had a son named Anas bin Malik. Her first husband left her when she converted to Islam. Abu Talha proposed to her and converted to Islam in order to marry her. Her son Abu Umair became sick and passed away while her husband was at work. When her husband returned, she did not immediately tell him about their son's death in order to let him rest. Umm Sulaim demonstrated great patience and strength in her faith.

4.  Her 1st husband left her due to her embracing
Islam.
 Abu Talha (RA) proposed to her. She said she
cannot marry a disbeliever. She questioned him
saying what kind of a man was he to worship trees
and idols. Then he embraced Islam.
 She said: the Mahr for her would be his acceptance
of Islam
 She dedicated her son Anas bin Malik (RA) to
Rasulullah (SAW)’s service.

5. Her son, Abu Umair was sick with high fever.
His fever shot up so high that he passed away
during the day while her husband was away.
When her husband came home after a hard day
at work, she first let him enjoy his meal. She
talked to him. He asked about the son, and she
said:
“He is better than before”

6. Then he enjoyed her company in peace and
tranquility. Later on, she asks him:
“If someone who had entrusted me with
something came to claim it, should one
return it?”
Her husband answered in the positive.
“Certainly!”

7.  Then she takes him into the room where son
was lying in his eternal sleep. She removed
the sheet from his face and says in a
trembling voice: “Allah had taken back the
son they were entrusted with.”

 Non-chaotic, calm, tranquil attitude
 Trust in Allah
 Brave – participated in battlefields of Islam
 Loved Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi
Wassalam)
 She collected his perspiration and saved it.
 Her trial made her even stronger in her
religion

9.  The Prophet
said:
“When I entered the Paradise, I heard
someone’s footsteps – It was explained to me
that she was Ghameesa bint Malhan.”
She had various names including Ghameesa.
Her nickname was Umm Sulaim.
