Introduction:
Adobe Flash (formerly Macromedia Flash) is a multimedia platform
used to add animation, video and interactivity to web pages.
Flash manipulates vector and raster graphics to provide animation of
text, drawing and still images.
Flash is frequently used for advertisement, games and flash animations
for broadcast.

History:
Adobe Flash professional is a successor of a software product known as
FutureSplash Animator, a vector graphics and vector animation program
released in May 1996.
It was developed by FutureWave Software, a small software company whose
first product, Smallsketch, was a vector based drawing.
In December 1996, macromedia bought FutureWave and so re-branded and
released FutureSplash Animator as Macromedia Flash v1.0 in 2005. Adobe
systems acquired Macromedia; subsequently, in 2007, Adobe Flash CS3
professional; the next version of Macromedia Flash was released.

Format:
Flash files are in swf format, traditionally called "Shockwave
Flash” movies, “Flash movies” or “Flash applications”,
usually have a.swf file extension.
Flash video formats: .flv, .f4v, .f4p, .f4a, .f4b
Flash audio formats: Mp3, AAC(Advanced audio coding),
ADPCM(Adaptive differential pulse code modulation),
NAC(Nellymoser Asao Codec) and speex.
ScriptingLanguage:
ActionScript is the programming language used by Flash. It is
an enhanced superset of the ECMAScript programming
language, akin to JavaScript, but provides additional
features and functionality intended for processing
animations.
FILE:
It allows creating, opening and saving archives…
Import has exceptional power; it inserts to the current movie
nearly all types of archives (sounds, videos, images and
even Flash movies).
Publication Settings option from which you can modify the
characteristics of the publications. It also enables to
configure the printing pages, print them, etc…
COMMAND:-
Allows administrating the Commands (group of saved
sentences that allows to emulate what user can introduce to
the edition environment) that we had saved in our
animation, to obtain other news from the Macromedia page
or execute what we already have.
CONTROL:-
From here we can modify the properties of the movie
reproduction Play, Rewind, Test Movie.
TOOLBAR:-
Selection (arrow) Tool : It is the most used tool among all.
Its main use is to select objects, it allows selecting the
borders of the objects, the fillings (with only one click), the
borders (with double click), zones on our choice...
Moreover, its adequate use can save time of our work.
LINETOOL:-
It allows creating straight lines in a quick way. The lines are
created as in any program of drawing. Click and drag to
show up a straight line until the desired end point. Once
created, the line can be modified just by placing the cursor
near the line: above of the extremes for dragging them, and
in any other part near the straight line to curve it.
PenTool:
creates polygons (and moreover straight lines, rectangles...)
in a simple way. Many people find this tool to be
complicated, although it's one of the most powerful tools
that Flash provides. Its use consists in clicking on the
places that we want to define as vertices of the polygons.
In order to create curves, indicate the anchor points, which
limit curvature, and then drag the tangent on them
OvalTool:
The Oval Tool enables drawing circles or ellipses in a fast
and simple way.
The Oval and Rectangle tools in Adobe Flash Professional
enable us to create basic geometric shapes and apply
strokes and fills; we can also specify rounded corners.
PencilTool:
We uses the Pencil tool in Adobe Flash Professional when we
want to draw lines and shapes. It is used in much the same
way as we would use a real pencil to draw on a piece of
paper. To apply smoothing or straightening to the lines and
shapes as we draw, select a drawing mode for the Pencil
tool in the bottom of the Tools panel.
InkBottleTool:
It is used to change quickly the color of a stroke. It is
applied to objects with borders, changes the color of the
boundary with one click in the Colors Mixer Panel.
We can apply solid colors, gradients, and bitmaps to lines or
shape outlines.
EyedroppersTool:
Its mission is to "Capture" colors to use them afterwards.
We uses the Eyedropper tool in Adobe Flash Professional to
copy fill and stroke attributes from one object and
immediately apply them to another object.
SubselectionTool:
Using the Subselection tool in Adobe Flash Professional we can
reshape a motion path by exposing the control points and
Bezier handles on the path that correspond to each position
property keyframe. We can use these handles to reshape the
path around the property keyframe points to adjust the
animation.
LassoTool:
The Lasso tool in Adobe Flash Professional enables us to
select objects on the Stage by encircling them with a
marquee. There are three options when using the Lasso
tool: freehand (the default setting), Polygon Mode, and
Magic Wand.
It creates a place for text where we click. Where we can add
any type of text of our choice.
We can create three types of text fields in Adobe Flash
Professional: static, dynamic, and input. All text fields support
Unicode:
Static text fields display text characters that don't change
dynamically
Dynamic text fields display dynamically updating text, such as
game scores or user names
Input text fields allow users to enter text in forms or surveys
TEXTTOOL:
RectangleTool:
The Rectangle tool in Adobe Flash Professional enables us to
create basic square geometric shapes and apply strokes and
fills; we can also specify rounded corners.
BrushTool:
Its functionality is equivalent to the pencil, but its stroke is
much more thicker. It is usually used for fills. We can
modify its thickness and stroke shape.
PaintBucketTool:
It lets us apply fillings to the created objects. Many other
programs of drawing don't allow to apply fillings if a
border doesn’t limit the zone, it does. The color applied by
this Tool can be modified from the Colors Mixer Panel or
from the subpanel Colors that are in the Tool Bar.
EraserTool:
It works like the Brush Tool. Nevertheless its function is to
erase everything what "it draws”.
Modes of erasing:
Erase normal: Erases strokes and fills on the same layer.
Erase Fills: Erases only fills; strokes are not effected.
Erase Lines: Erases only strokes; fills are not effected.
Erase selected fills: Erases only selected fills.
Erase inside: Erases only the fills on which you begin the
Eraser stroke.
View:
•Hand tool: The Hand tool lets us pick the movie display
window and place it at the desired location. It is specially
helpful with movies whose dimensions are large and
extend beyond the display area. In such cases, scroll bar
usage can be quite cumbersome and Hand tool is
preferred.
•Zoom tool: We can zoom in and out using the zoom tool.
The shape of the mouse cursor changes depending upon
the activated modifier.
TOOLBAROPTIONS:
Adjusting Objects : It is used to make objects to "fit" with
others, i.e. if it is possible, to intersect its borders, then
objects seem to be "grouped".
Smoothening:
It softens the straight segments in less rigid lines.
Straightening:
It does the inverse work. It converts the rounded segments in
more straight ones.
ColorMixerPanel:
The Color Mixer Panel as its name indicates is used to create
our own colors and to select colors that we like.
This panel is just another way to control the colors that we use for
lines/strokes and fills/gradients. It offers us a wider palette of
shades than the default color picker, and more ways to enter
values--making it easier to match colors picked from a JPEG
image or an HTML document
Wecancreatedifferenttypesof
Fills:
Solid Fill: It consists in a filling formed by a single color.
Linear Gradient: It is a special filling type, a color does a
gradient until it converts into another one. It can shade
from top to bottom or from one side to the other.
Radial Gradient: It is identical to the previous one, but the
gradient shade performs a circular pattern.
Bitmap: It lets you put an image existing in the movie as
filling (you can even import it in that precise moment).
Timeline:
The Timeline in Adobe Flash Professional organizes and
controls a document's content over time in layers and
frames. Like movie film, Flash documents divide lengths of
time into frames.
Layers in a document are listed in a column on the left side of the Timeline.
Frames contained in each layer appear in a row to the right of the layer name.
The Timeline header at the top of the Timeline indicates frame numbers.
Playhead indicates the current frame displayed on the Stage. As a document
plays, the playhead moves from left to right through the Timeline. By default,
the playhead loops when it reaches the end.

  • 14. PencilTool: We uses the Pencil tool in Adobe Flash Professional when we want to draw lines and shapes. It is used in much the same way as we would use a real pencil to draw on a piece of paper. To apply smoothing or straightening to the lines and shapes as we draw, select a drawing mode for the Pencil tool in the bottom of the Tools panel.
  • 15. InkBottleTool: It is used to change quickly the color of a stroke. It is applied to objects with borders, changes the color of the boundary with one click in the Colors Mixer Panel. We can apply solid colors, gradients, and bitmaps to lines or shape outlines.
  • 16. EyedroppersTool: Its mission is to "Capture" colors to use them afterwards. We uses the Eyedropper tool in Adobe Flash Professional to copy fill and stroke attributes from one object and immediately apply them to another object.
  • 17. SubselectionTool: Using the Subselection tool in Adobe Flash Professional we can reshape a motion path by exposing the control points and Bezier handles on the path that correspond to each position property keyframe. We can use these handles to reshape the path around the property keyframe points to adjust the animation.
  • 18. LassoTool: The Lasso tool in Adobe Flash Professional enables us to select objects on the Stage by encircling them with a marquee. There are three options when using the Lasso tool: freehand (the default setting), Polygon Mode, and Magic Wand.
  • 19. It creates a place for text where we click. Where we can add any type of text of our choice. We can create three types of text fields in Adobe Flash Professional: static, dynamic, and input. All text fields support Unicode: Static text fields display text characters that don't change dynamically Dynamic text fields display dynamically updating text, such as game scores or user names Input text fields allow users to enter text in forms or surveys TEXTTOOL:
  • 20. RectangleTool: The Rectangle tool in Adobe Flash Professional enables us to create basic square geometric shapes and apply strokes and fills; we can also specify rounded corners.
  • 21. BrushTool: Its functionality is equivalent to the pencil, but its stroke is much more thicker. It is usually used for fills. We can modify its thickness and stroke shape.
  • 22. PaintBucketTool: It lets us apply fillings to the created objects. Many other programs of drawing don't allow to apply fillings if a border doesn’t limit the zone, it does. The color applied by this Tool can be modified from the Colors Mixer Panel or from the subpanel Colors that are in the Tool Bar.
  • 23. EraserTool: It works like the Brush Tool. Nevertheless its function is to erase everything what "it draws”. Modes of erasing: Erase normal: Erases strokes and fills on the same layer. Erase Fills: Erases only fills; strokes are not effected. Erase Lines: Erases only strokes; fills are not effected. Erase selected fills: Erases only selected fills. Erase inside: Erases only the fills on which you begin the Eraser stroke.
  • 24. View: •Hand tool: The Hand tool lets us pick the movie display window and place it at the desired location. It is specially helpful with movies whose dimensions are large and extend beyond the display area. In such cases, scroll bar usage can be quite cumbersome and Hand tool is preferred. •Zoom tool: We can zoom in and out using the zoom tool. The shape of the mouse cursor changes depending upon the activated modifier.
  • 25. TOOLBAROPTIONS: Adjusting Objects : It is used to make objects to "fit" with others, i.e. if it is possible, to intersect its borders, then objects seem to be "grouped". Smoothening: It softens the straight segments in less rigid lines. Straightening: It does the inverse work. It converts the rounded segments in more straight ones.
  • 26. ColorMixerPanel: The Color Mixer Panel as its name indicates is used to create our own colors and to select colors that we like. This panel is just another way to control the colors that we use for lines/strokes and fills/gradients. It offers us a wider palette of shades than the default color picker, and more ways to enter values--making it easier to match colors picked from a JPEG image or an HTML document
  • 27. Wecancreatedifferenttypesof Fills: Solid Fill: It consists in a filling formed by a single color. Linear Gradient: It is a special filling type, a color does a gradient until it converts into another one. It can shade from top to bottom or from one side to the other. Radial Gradient: It is identical to the previous one, but the gradient shade performs a circular pattern. Bitmap: It lets you put an image existing in the movie as filling (you can even import it in that precise moment).
  • 28. Timeline: The Timeline in Adobe Flash Professional organizes and controls a document's content over time in layers and frames. Like movie film, Flash documents divide lengths of time into frames.
  • 29. Layers in a document are listed in a column on the left side of the Timeline. Frames contained in each layer appear in a row to the right of the layer name. The Timeline header at the top of the Timeline indicates frame numbers. Playhead indicates the current frame displayed on the Stage. As a document plays, the playhead moves from left to right through the Timeline. By default, the playhead loops when it reaches the end.
