Willingness to spend has improved substantially for the second consecutive month, with positive gains in all components of the Spending Sentiment Index. • Consumer perception of the macro-economy is also showing improvement, with the Inflation Sentiment Index at an all-time high and the Employment Sentiment Index at its highest since May 2012.

Per disclaimer on final page of presentation Consumer Outlook Index: City-wise break-up • The Consumer Outlook Index is based on a survey of over 4,000 consumers in 18 Indian cities. • All four regions made positive gains, with South the closest to optimism. • In the month of June 2014, sentiment showed an improvement in 13 of the cities surveyed. • Mangalore, Hyderabad and Guwahati are the only three cities with an optimistic sentiment, although Delhi and Mumbai are not far from a score of 50.
