2. Third person noun/pronoun is not in agreement with verb in present simple tense.

3. Mistakes in use of correct tenses.
Ensure that the verbs are correct in tense & in active/passive voice.
• He finished his work yesterday. (Right)

5. Mistakes in subject verb agreements.
Ensure that the verbs are correct in tense & in active/passive voice
• Poor people have increased. (Right)
• Poor people has increased. (Wrong)
6. Mistakes on use of pronouns.
Ensure that pronouns have proper antecedents
• Boil the milk, if the child doesn’t like it cold. (Right)
• If the child doesn’t like cold milk, boil it. (Wrong)
7. Wrong prepositions have been used.
Ensure that correct prepositions are used
• We are interested in your painting. (Right)
• We are interested at your painting. (Wrong)
4. Mistakes in use of correct tenses.
Ensure that the verbs forms are correct
• They are trying to go on picnic. (Right)
• They have trying to go on picnic. (Wrong)

3. 8. Wrong use of countable and non countable nouns.
Ensure proper adjectives for countable & uncountable noun
• Most of my friends came. (Right)
• Every one of my friend came. (Right)
• Most of my friend came (Wrong)
• Every one of my friends came. (Wrong)
9. Wrong parts of speech are used.
Ensure that proper parts of speech are used
• It was excellent work. (Right)
• It was excellence work. (Wrong)
10. Wrong conditional forms are used.
Methodology:
This internet based program (Improve English Grammar in 10 Lessons) has been designed on self
learning pattern. Each lesson covers just one of the above 10 areas. The lesson consists of details
about the mistake, series of wrong sentences having that particular mistake and also the corrected
sentences. The lesson will also have a self learning exercise along with answers. An audio/video clip
about the topic will also form part of the lesson.
