Our new Ensemble Cloudlet is a direct response to the growing demand for on-premises cloud solutions. It empowers enterprises to harness edge computing to meet requirements for low latency, enhanced security and improved resilience. For CSPs, Ensemble Cloudlet creates an entirely new use case for uCPE. It enables them to offer customers an easily scalable edge cloud with localized control.

All rights reserved. 3 Hybrid workloads at the customer site From uCPE to edge computing • Service providers use uCPE to deliver managed network services at the customer premises • These on-premises clouds unlock new revenue - hosting enterprise IT workloads • Providers are now deploying hybrid workloads at the on-premises edge: • Managed networking services and • Customer-managed IT applications or non-networking workloads uCPE paved the way for on-premises edge computing

Users need to run applications at the edge for many reasons: • Reduce backhaul costs – e.g., for video surveillance data reduction • Reduce latency – e.g., for demanding applications like 5G and AR/VR • Security and privacy – e.g., to meet data sovereignty requirements • Need for “always-on” cloud – even during loss of network connectivity 2. Many businesses are trending to opex models 3. Service providers leveraging a common on-premises cloud have a lower cost than hyperscaler edge services 4. Service providers can bundle (or upsell) managed network services with edge computing Edge computing plays to service providers’ strengths

Efficient. Smaller number of cores and less memory consumed 3. Span. Orchestrated services can span multiple compute nodes 4. Automated HA. With VNF migration policies between nodes 5. Visibility. Provides cloud-level view or management of the site, or service topology at the site 6. Simpler. HA and inter-node services are orchestrated and do not need to be manually configured outside of the cloud 7. Compute nodes have a smaller footprint. Making more resources available for applications
