Maria Pamela A. Marchado is the very first Barobaybay Academy Mission School (BAMS) graduate who joined Accenture after graduating Valedictorian from the University of Makati, where Accenture granted her full scholarship. This is her story.
2. For Maria Pamela A. Marchado, Pam to her
family and friends, her life has literally come
full circle. She is the very first Barobaybay
Academy Mission School (BAMS) graduate
who has joined Accenture.
I grew up in Barobaybay Lavezares, Northern
Samar. My father is a fisherman and my
mother is a housekeeper. We live in a very
simple house and have learned to accept the
sad reality of my life at an early age. This did
not stop me though from pursuing my dreams.
With the help of the BAMS nuns, I was able to
get accepted in the only school in Barobaybay
that was offering secondary education, during
that time. Unfortunately, the school itself
also needed help. It was only through the
annual Barobaybay fund-raiser where Accenture
helped provide funding for teachers’ salaries,
educational supplies, and computers.
Perseverance Through Adversity
“My words of appreciation are
inadequate to express my joy for all
the help that Accenture has given
me. For sharing in my dreams; for
their invaluable help, support and
patience, I say thank you and I hope
Accenture will continue to be an
inspiration to others.”

3. After graduating high school, through
the encouragement of Sister Manuela
Sanayan, MCJ, I continued my education
at the University of Makati. I was given a
full scholarship by Accenture. Despite the
challenges that I faced, I persevered and
never lost faith in the Lord. In 2006, I
finally graduated as class Valedictorian and
earned my Bachelor of Science degree in
Management Accounting.
As fate would have it, I found myself attending
a job fair held by Accenture at the University of
Makati. Initially, I had my mind set on working
for an auditing firm, but after taking and
passing Accenture’s exam, I ended up working
for the same company who has helped me then
till now.
After working in Accenture for two and a half
years, I decided to accept a job offer from the
British Embassy in Manila as Regional Finance
Officer. It does not change the fact though
that I will forever be grateful to Accenture for
everything that they have done for me, my
family and for giving me a better chance in life.
