Proven Graphene Solutions - Company Brochure 2017 • All Rights Reserved • 2 of 9
Our Mission:
It is our primary aim, to make your products more efficient, stronger,
more durable and long-lasting, with enhanced qualities that advance your ability to meet
market demands (both current and future) while improving your bottom line.
In doing so, we hope to unlock the inherent potential in the products we use everyday, in
addition to those beginning to emerge and that will continue emerging long into the future.
Current Offering:
We’ve recently developed a patent pending technology to produce high-quality,
commercial-grade, low-cost pristine graphene. Resulting in a unique graphene-based
powder composite, that is both hydrophilic and hydrophobic (depending on use) and is
derived from graphite.
This pristine graphene in the form of a low-cost mass producible composite powder AKA:
Ultra-Graphene is designed for admixture into various liquids and materials. The price and
quality breakthrough we’ve achieved with our unique graphene composite will allow for
the use in many industrial and commercial applications at a price point that will remove
barriers, where it was previously cost prohibitive to do so.
Business Case:
What is graphene?
The simplest way to describe graphene is that it is a single, thin layer of graphite — the
soft, flaky material used in pencil lead. Graphite it is an allotrope of the element carbon,
meaning it possesses the same atoms but they’re arranged in a different way, giving the
material different properties. For example, both diamond and graphite are forms of carbon,
yet they have wildly different natures. Diamonds are incredibly strong, while graphite is
brittle. Graphene’s atoms are arranged in a hexagonal arrangement.
Graphene atoms are arranged in a honeycomb pattern.
Proven Graphene Solutions - Company Brochure 2017 • All Rights Reserved • 3 of 9
Interestingly, when graphene is isolated from graphite it takes on some
miraculous properties. It is a mere one atom thick, the first two-dimensional
material ever discovered. Despite this, graphene is also one of the strongest
materials in the known universe. With a tensile strength of 130 GPa
(gigapascals), it is more than 100 times stronger than steel.
Graphene’s incredible strength despite being so thin is already enough to
qualify it as an amazing wonder-material. However, its unique properties do
not end there. It is also flexible, transparent, highly conductive, and
seemingly impermeable to most gasses and liquids.
Drawbacks to existing solutions:
Regular graphene is expensive to manufacture, and most graphene products
have damaged crystals. Forcing the graphene layers to break away from
graphite - crushes or distorts the crystalline structure of the graphene layers
in almost all manufacturing methods utilized today. This yields sub-par
properties in the graphene. Resulting in a poorly rendered, lower grade,
weakened graphene material and inferior graphene products.
Most available graphene products are hydrophobic (they clump and
aggregate when mixed into liquids or materials). There is a product derived
from graphene termed: graphene oxide, that is hydrophilic, but the ‘oxide’
portion refers to oxide contamination that reduces 2/3rds of the beneficial
properties of the graphene. It is still used - because even with the lack many
of the properties of graphene - it is still hydrophilic and will mix int liquids
and materials. http://www.azonano.com/article.aspx?ArticleID=3837
Competitive Edge: How We’re Different
Our graphene product has undergone a series of testing at 4D Labs, SFU.
Through which, it was discovered to have an intact crystalline structure,
with hydrophilic properties when mixed into most liquids and materials. It
also becomes hydrophobic when mixed with oil based products.
This represents an important breakthrough in graphene products,
to have produced pristine graphene that is able to mix into so many liquids
and materials with ease.
Additionally, our graphene composite is easily and quickly manufactured in
both small and large volumes and at low cost. Permitting us to boast one of
the lowest commercial costs in the world to end use customers, with an
unmatched, high-quality graphene composite product that is ready to scale

to meet your business needs.
Note: A few products have recently entered the graphene market that have better quality crystals
than normal industry standards, but they are hydrophobic and have limited commercial use due
to the inability to mix into liquids and materials without the use of expensive binders.
A Word About Our Competition:
Currently, outside of our patented graphene composite;
The next highest quality hydrophilic-capable graphene available in the
industry that we are aware of, that is also mass producible, contains the
following: damaged crystals, impaired graphene properties, and crumpled
flakes.
The PGS Advantage
Our graphene has near perfect crystals, excellent flakes with no pinholes and
almost zero contaminants. It is hydrophilic in most uses and is mass
producible. It is a high purity, high quality, graphene composite as verified
through previous SFU testing.
Current interest from multiple large corporations at time of this writing,
for specific application testing in a range of products, include
super-capacitance/batteries, concrete strengthening, corrosion control in
paints and coatings, and environmental hazardous waste clean-up.
Recent in-house testing with our graphene composite powder has displayed
such unique and enhanced properties: corrosion resistance, including the
repelling of acids on heat treated corrosion paints infused with our product.
Throughout which, our Ultra-Graphene has also successfully absorbed crude
oil spilled into surface-water. Cleaning the water by an estimated 95%.
The graphene powder was skimmed, later squeezed and the recovered oil
separated and isolated. The graphene powder composite was reused to soak
up oil spills an additional 5 times prior to degrading and requiring
replacement. Our graphene composite powder is made up of nearly pure
Proven Graphene Solutions - Company Brochure 2017 • All Rights Reserved • 5 of 9
carbon, according to scanning electron microscope tests at 4D Labs, and
holds almost no oil after being squeezed.
We believe this combination of high-quality low-cost mass producible
pristine graphene that is hydrophilic (in most uses, hydrophobic when
it comes in contact with oil) constitutes a wide-ranging application, that
will be instrumental in the developing graphene markets and will have
a significant competitive edge. Boosting the overall effectiveness of a
multiplicity of products, transforming industries.
Market Description: Excerpted from
http://www.marketsandmarkets.com/PressReleases/graphene.asp
“The global graphene market is expected to reach USD 278.47 Million by
2020, with a growth rate of 42.8% from 2015 to 2020
The graphene market in Asia-Pacific is projected to register the fastest
growth rate in the world.
This is mainly attributed to the high economic growth rate, growing
manufacturing industries, cheap labor, and increasing graphene-based
application patents.
China is the main contributor and the major source of graphite and other
materials used for graphene extraction to the graphene market in
Proven Graphene Solutions - Company Brochure 2017 • All Rights Reserved • 6 of 9
Asia-Pacific. The dominance of China in the market for graphene in the
region is owed to its rapidly increasing cross-industry collaborations, and
major R&D activities for the commercialization and enhancement of
graphene being adopted by various universities and research institutes.”
Graphene Oxide – The largest, by type market for Graphene
“Graphene Oxide, also known as GO, is the largest segment of the graphene
market. GO is a derivative of graphene. GO has the presence of oxygen
functionalities, which helps in easy dispersal (hydrophilic) in water and
other organic solvents. However, the oxides in graphene oxides act as a
contaminant and graphene oxide only has 1/3rd
the properties of true
graphene.
Owing to its high electrical conductivity, GO is widely used in electronic
devices, catalytic oxidation, biotechnology, and as a surfactant in industrial
applications. In North America, GO is the leading segment, due to its low cost
($150 US per gram) easy production process, and availability of large
manufacturing facilities as compared to other types of graphene. “
Carbon Waste Reduction
