1. Professional Statement
My nine years of experience in school leadership serving diverse students and communities has
provided me with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively develop and implement
effective school programs within any school environment. I am enthusiastic and prepared to
consider new challenges and opportunities that will afford me the opportunity to continue to
maximize student learning and achievement.
In an effort to increase overall school effectiveness, I have developed and facilitated the
implementation of effective academic programs to meet the needs of all students; effectively
utilized positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to create a positive school climate
and increase school safety; created professional development plans for ongoing teacher
development; and actively engaged and informed all stakeholders of school successes and needs
through consistent and timely internal and external communications.
A review of my resume will provide you with specific details regarding my responsibilities and
accomplishments. Those include: tripling the number of students taking Advanced Placement
courses and increasing the number of students receiving passing scores by 14%; increasing the
graduation rate of minority students to one that surpasses that of the state of Maryland; and
collaborating with stakeholders to develop a focused testing support program that led to my
current school receiving a bronze medal designation on the U.S. News and World Report’s Best
High Schools list. What may not be as easy to discern from my resume is my unwavering sense
of responsibility to ensure that all students are treated fairly and provided with opportunities to
excel, resources to reach their highest potential, and encouragement to build their sense of
confidence. I am a supportive and motivational school leader who leads by example and works
collaboratively to ensure that all voices are afforded the chance to be heard.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss the contributions that I would be able to make to any school
system.
Kind regards,
Adrian Charley
