I believe that I have the characteristics of a nurse that Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital needs
and deserves. My educational background has prepared me to be the best nurse I can be. The
professors at the U of L’s School of Nursing has given me a solid background so that I can
perform tasks that are given to me. I am eager to contribute my enthusiasm and up-to-date skills
to your hospital. My dream job is to work as a Labor and Delivery nurse. In order to get to do
that, I know I would have to be confident in other skills. I would like to work in the Emergency
Department or a Medical Surgical unit to start out my nursing career to establish a strong
foundation and then work towards my specific goal.
I have already accomplished many nursing related activities. While at UofL, I have had many
opportunities to get out into the community and work in the field. Places that I closely worked
with patients are the Southern Indiana Rehabilitation Hospital, Baptist East Hospital on their
Medical Surgical unit and Sts. Mary and Elizabeth’s Hospital on both the Emergency
Department and ICU. From when I started nursing school to now, I have greatly increased my
skills in communication with patients, part of which I owe a great deal to your staff.
