1. SLAB IS A PRIMARY MEMBER WHICH TAKES THE LOADS COMING ON
HORIZONTAL PLANES.
2. BEAMS, WALLS, COLUMNS ARE THE MEMBERS WHICH RECEIVES THE
LOAD FROM SLAB, ITS OWN LOADS AND IMPOSED LOADS AND
TRANSFER TO THE GROUND.
3. IF IT IS MULTI STORIED, THEN COLUMNS AND WALLS WILL TRANSFER
TO THE FLOORS BELOW AND FINALLY TO GROUND.

5. ALWAYS CODAL PROVISIONS SUCH AS THICKNESS, SPAN RATIO SHALL

INITIALLY AND MAY BE REVIEWED DEPENDING ON ARCHITECTURAL

28. STRUCTURAL WALL SYSTEM:
WHEN THE PROJECT IS VERY LARGE, TALL AND REPETITIVE OR NEAR
REPETITIVE, TIME BOUND DELIVERABLES, WE NEED TO THINK OF A
STRUCTURAL SYSTEM WHICH COULD BE FAST IN CONSTRUCTION WITH
MOST OF THE SERVICES COULD BE EMBEDED OR PREPLANNED.
IN THIS, ALL ARCHITECTURAL WALLS WITH CILL LEVEL, LINTEL LEVEL
KNOWN OR DETERMINED ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES. A STRUCTURAL
PLAN USING THESE INFORMATION WILL BE PREPARED WHERE ALL OR
MOST OF THE WALLS ARE USED AS STRUCTURAL WALLS AND ANALYSIS
TO BE CARRIED OUT TO CHECK THE STABILITY. IN MOST OF THE CASES
SINCE THE STIFNESS OF STRUCUTRE IS HIGH, LATERAL DEFLECTIONS
WILL BE USUALLY SAFE.
29. • IN ORDER TO CONSTRUCT, WE NEED THE FORMWORK UNITIZED AND
ASSEMBLED LIKE JIGSAW PUZZLE WITH DETAILED DRAWING AND
PROPER NUMBERING. THIS WILL BE PREPARED BY THE FORMWORK
VENDOR. THERE WILL BE 2 SETS OF DRAWING, ONE FOR THE WALLS
& THE OTHER FOR THE SLAB SUPPORTING SYSTEM. MAJORITY OF
THIS WILL BE FROM STANDARD SIZES WITH NON STANDARD.
• AS OF NOW THERE ARE LARGE NO OF TO PRODUCE THESE TYPE OF
FORMWORKS IN DIFFERENT MATERIALS LIKE ALUMINIUM (WHICH IS
VERY POPULAR), PVC ETC. CONCRETING OF WALLS AND SLAB SHALL
BE POURED TOGETHER IN SINGLE POUR.

30. • PROPER CONCRETE WHICH CAN FLOW INTO THE WALLS SUCH AS
SMART DYNAMIC CONCRETE AND OR SELF COMPACTING FREE FLOW

• IF THE CAR PARKING IS BELOW THE TOWER BLOCK, THEN THERE WILL
BE TRANSFER SYSTEM WITH TRANSFER GIRDER ABOVE CAR PARKING
ZONE. SERVICES INTERFACE NEEDS TO BE EXCERSIZED BEFORE
FINALIZING.

AND CRANES OF HIGHER CAPACITY ALSO NEEDS KEPT IN MIND.
• IT HAS A LIMITATION ON HEIGHT OF THE BUILDING BECAUSE OF
LOGISTIC ISSUES LIKE LARGE CAPACITY CRANES AND SAFETY IN THE
MIND.

MOSTLY THESE BUILDING REQUIRE LARGE SPAN WHICH ARE GOVERNED
BY CAR PARKING IN THE BASEMENT. DEPENDING ON GRIDS, FLAT SLAB

THE LATERAL LOADS ARE TO BE TAKEN 100% BY THE CORE WHICH

SHEAR CONNECTIONS AND SOME MOMENT CONNECTIONS ALSO.
