MULTIFUNCTIONAL, THERAPEUTIC & NUTRITIONAL
 Food- Lecithin is the best choice natural emulsifier used in bakery, confectionary, fast
foods, etc. on a very large scale. It is becoming popular in this industry due to its
properties like stabilizer, mild preservative, moisturizing agent, wetting agent, release
agent, viscosity modifier, mixing aid, an anti-dusting agent, & more.
 Feed- Lecithin being the best additive; it is used in animal feed for aqua, poultry, dairy
& shrimp industry. It enriches fat & protein and improves pelletization. Studies have
shown that crustaceans & fishes cannot adequately synthesize the phospholipids they
require for maximum performance. Therefore phospholipids are recommended in their
diet.
 Cosmetics- Lecithin & Hydrogenated Lecithin are used in the formulation of a large
number of cosmetics and personal care products. They enhance the appearance of dry
or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness. These ingredients also
help to form emulsions by reducing the surface tension of substances to be emulsified.
 Pharma & Nutraceuticals- Approximately 30% of our brain weight & 60% of our
liver fat is lecithin. Lecithin improves cardiovascular health, facilitating liver functions,
enhancing memory, reducing cholesterol & treating severe ulcerative colitis. Lecithin &
essential phospholipids are used as a health supplement, sports medicine, memory
enhancer & for stress management.
