6. Massive growth on agriculture
• The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana changed this
status quo. Launched in 2016, the scheme
overhauled the agriculture insurance system and has
provided, a much-needed safety net for farmers
• The PM Krishi Sinchayee Yojana has expanded
irrigation coverage and reduced farmers’
dependence on rainfall for irrigation.
• In 2019, the government launched the PM Kisan
Samman Nidhi to provide an assured cash transfer of
