- 31. Citation Alerts • Set on specific records • Notify you when the record is being cited • Keep track of an area of research as it develops by setting up Citation Alerts for seminal works • Follow a seminal author in your field - Author Citation Alert

- 36. Scopus – Author Citation Alert From the Scopus homepage, select Authors, note that you have to be logged into your account to receive author citation alerts

- 39. Select the how often you would like to be alerted, and when
- 40. Once set up, alerts can be edited or deleted by going to your alerts page

- Brand engagement social media – Primo treats the entire query as a phrase and returns results in which all of the words may be closer together. Brand engagement AND social media – Primo treats Brand engagement and social media as separate phrases and returns results in which both phrases may not be as close together.

- Wildcard – helps when searching for variations of the work like brief and briefer = brief*
- Filter to find the most relevant results
- Filtering by publication date helps you to not only focus on relevant resources to your topic but also current resources
- Resource type: Book, Other (UCT Theses and digital collections), Article, Magazine article, conference proceedings etc. Availability status – Library or online
- Please note – full text availability statement to see if the article you are looking for is within that range
- Helps focus the search to a discipline
- Books with more that one version need to select version to choose latest version or to see if its available Check availability – need to click to see if the book is on order or on loan (sign-in to request when on loan)
- Helps you see what other books are available on the shelf related to the book you are looking at NB: no virtual browse option for eBooks
- View your saved records Saved searches Search history – have to save this per session to keep the history
