A classroom is a group of learners.Generally speaking, learning groups have at least two basic objectives: to complete learning tasks; to maintain positive and effective relationships among group members. Leadership consists of actions that help the group to complete its tasks successfully and maintain effective working relationships among its members.For any classroom to be successful, both task-leadership actions and group maintenance must be provided by the teacher. 3. Enhancement – Asking yourself, “How can I improve my surroundings to better my students and myself?” Willing to put in additional time before or after school. Cooperation – Willing to work with other teachers, administration, and staff to share ideas, locate new helpful resources, and plan beneficial events/trips for the students. Support is communicating to others that you recognize their strengths and believe they are capable of productively managing their situation. 6. Deciders become victims because they allow others to make their decisions for them. Many teachers are victims because they adapt to the negative environment in the school. Example; No teachers in your hall stand on their door to greet the students, so you don’t either. The result is the students suffer and the teacher is not maximizing his or her potential. 7. Leaders choose to take responsibility and accountability for his or her own choices. To choose means to accept the consequences that accompany my choice. If it fails, blame me. But if it succeeds, reward me. LEADERS CHOOSE, NOT DECIDE
