Welcome to BUCKLESconnect – an opportunity for you to share in, and benefit from, a free
support network, offering best practice for you and your clients.
BUCKLESconnect is a bespoke service for law firms and other professionals, run by Buckles
Solicitors LLP, which provides access to legal expertise in niche areas they may be unable to offer
their clients themselves.
This referral network operates on a membership basis where independent firms can refer cases for
their clients to BUCKLESconnect without fear of losing them to a competitor.
It may be that the referring firm cannot deal with the matter because there is a conflict, or it falls
outside of normal areas of expertise. In those instances, BUCKLESconnect will provide expert
advice along with the same first-class, professional service we provide to all of our clients.
For every matter you introduce we will make a referral payment based on our competitive fee
sharing arrangement.
Of course, we respect the relationship with your client and we ensure that they remain your client.
We have robust systems in place to ensure that we will not contact your clients directly or
indirectly. In addition, we cannot accept instructions from any client introduced without your prior
approval. Any repeat instructions will also qualify for a referral payment.
Membership to BUCKLESconnect is completely free of charge and provides access to a variety of
additional member benefits.

French litigation – an area in which we are seeing an increased demand among our own clients.
Spanish law - Our Spanish-speaking lawyers can provide bilingual assistance in relation to all aspects of buying,
owning and selling a property in Spain. We are in the fortunate position of having specialists right here in the UK
who can liaise with legal counterparts in Spain – allowing us to speed up the process through communication. We
can also advise on Wills, succession matters and assist with Spanish litigation both in the UK and Spain.
Contentious probate - With increasing demand in this particular area, our specialists are able to offer expert
advice on the options to challenge or respond to a challenge against a Will or an estate. We are realistic about the
possible costs from the outset, and set clear timescales at each stage of the matter.
Planning - We currently act for a wide range of clients from individuals to institutional lenders, Local
Authorities, major utility companies, developers, house builders, housing associations and leading retail operators.
Our specialist planning department offers expert advice in relation to all aspects of the Town and Country Planning

Property litigation - We recognise that this is a growing area, and one which sees frequent changes in
legislation. We provide advice in all areas of landlord and tenant litigation, and in all types of real estate disputes
including break notices, dilapidations, lease renewals, possession claims, recovery of rent and other arrears and
restrictive covenants.
Mediation - Relationship and family disputes have become a growing area for us, and our team of mediators and
family law experts can provide civil and commercial support for a wide range of disputes, including family and divorce
mediation. We are currently working in partnership with Relate (in what we believe to be the first venture of its kind
in the UK) on an initiative to try and ease the impact of any relationship breakdown on children and other family
members by simplifying the legal process.
Wills, trusts and probate - We have a large private client team working across all of our branches which
can provide individuals with advice on wealth preservation, setting up a trust, care home fee planning, writing and
updating Wills and lasting powers of attorney. With these life-changing and life-enhancing decisions among the most
important many people will face, it is paramount that the correct legal advice is delivered in each individual case.
Employment - The constant changes to leglistation in this area can sometimes appear confusing and unclear to
some employers - from the law surrounding working hours and wages to tribunals and employee disputes. However,
the employment team offers employers of all sizes, support on the ever-changing legislation. A range of affordable
pricing options including monthly retainers, fixed cost annual protection and fixed fees, is also available.

The Service
Fee sharing
Another great advantage of BUCKLESconnect is that members benefit from our competitive fee sharing arrangement. This is
based on a percentage of our costs, dependent on the area of the law. Any repeat instructions will also qualify for the same fee
sharing arrangement.
Our payment terms are very simple – once your client has paid us, we pay you.
If you would prefer us to pass the referral fee on to your client in the form of a rebate, we would be happy to discuss this with
you.
Competitive fee arrangements
Services are offered on the same fee terms available to clients who instruct us direct, regardless of the fee share we offer you,
ensuring value for money for your clients.
Free and discounted training
We believe that training is paramount when it comes to offering a first class and comprehensive service, particularly as the legal
world is ever changing. Therefore, BUCKLESconnect will give you access to at least two free training courses each year at our
office in Peterborough.
All our courses are delivered by experts in their field across a range of topics and disciplines relevant to the majority of our
member firms.
Members also receive exclusive discounted rates on training courses run by The Solicitors Group.
Business consultancy support
We can also provide you with support on most areas for running a successful business, the additional extras which go
into an all-round polished package.
Newsletters
Members will receive quarterly newsletters on a variety of topical legal subjects. These invaluable articles can also be shared with
