2. Walking with God in humbleness.pptx

  1. 1. DESIRING TO WALK GOD WITH
  2. 2. Walking GOD WITH In Humbleness
  3. 3. Mic 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? WALK HUMBLY WITH GOD
  4. 4. There is no harder lesson to learn than the lesson of humility. It is not taught in the schools of men, only in the school of Christ. It is the rarest of all the gifts. Very rarely do we find a man or woman who is following closely the footsteps of the Master in meekness and in humility. I believe that it is the hardest lesson which Jesus Christ had to teach His disciples while He was here upon earth. D.L MOODY SAYS…
  5. 5. Num 12:3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) MOSES THE HUMBLEST PERSON
  6. 6. Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. JESUS IS THE BEST EXAMPLE
  7. 7. Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: BE LIKEMINDED OF CHRIST
  8. 8. Heart is Deceitful- Jer_17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Heart is Problematic- Pro_4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Heart is Sinful- Mat_12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS OF THE HEART?
  9. 9. You cannot change it- Pro_20:9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? It is Proud- Eze 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty… Pro 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS OF THE HEART?
  10. 10.  Our hearts are evil, and we cannot change them. . . . Education, culture, the exercise of the will, human effort, all have their proper sphere, but here they are powerless. They may produce an outward correctness of behavior, but they cannot change the heart; they cannot purify the springs of life. There must be a power working from within, a new life from above, before men can be changed from sin to holiness. That power is Christ. His grace alone can quicken the lifeless faculties of the soul, and attract it to God, to holiness. {Amazing Grace 120.3} WHO CAN CHANGE YOUR HEART
  11. 11. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
  12. 12. ONLY THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN CHANGE YOU!

  16. 16. Mat_18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Mat_23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. Luk_22:26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. WHO WANTS TO BE THE GREATEST?
  17. 17. THE PARABLE OF PHARISEE AND TAX COLLECTOR
  18. 18. LUKE 18:10-14 Luk 18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
  19. 19. Luk 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. Luk 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
  20. 20. Luk 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. Luk 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
  21. 21.  To move across from one sort of person to another is the essence of repentance: the liar becomes truthful, the thief honest, the lewd pure, the proud humble. The whole moral texture of the life is altered. The thoughts, the desires, the affections are transformed, and the man is no longer what he had been before. So radical is this change that the apostle calls the man that used to be ”the old man” and the man that now is ”the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.” A.W TOZER, “THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOLY”
  22. 22. Are there not some saying: “Ah! that is the mischief with me; it is always the self-life, and self-comfort, and self-consciousness, and self- pleasing, and self-will; how am I to get rid of it?” My answer is: It is Christ Jesus who can rid you of it; none else but Christ Jesus can give deliverance from the power of self. And what does He ask you to do? He asks that you should humble yourself before Him. ANDREW MURRAY, “ABSOLUTE SURRENDER”
  23. 23. 1. Acknowledge the Holiness of God- Isa 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. Isa 6:4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Isa 6:5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. STEPS TO HUMBLENESS
  24. 24. 2. Ask the Lord to Change your Heart- Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psa 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Psa 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. STEPS TO HUMBLENESS
  25. 25. Allow God to Soften your Heart- Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Heb 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Heb 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: STEPS TO HUMBLENESS
  26. 26. 2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. IF…
  27. 27. Being Humble is not to say “I AM HUMBLE” It is not Humble outside, Proud Inside- Pro 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD Over Humbleness may brings to Danger Zone Ex. Tolerance of Abuse, Bullied, and Injustices We may feel proud of our Achievements but always credit to God… PRECAUTIONS OF EXCEEDING HUMBLENESS

  29. 29. Dan 4:30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? A PROUD KING
  30. 30. Dan 4:31 While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. A PROUD KING TO A HUMBLE KING
  31. 31. Dan 4:33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws. A PROUD KING TO A HUMBLE KING
  32. 32. Dan 4:36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honor and brightness returned unto me; and my counselors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me. Dan 4:37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase. HE LEARNED A LESSON
