Technology proliferation continues to increase the lethality our adversaries have in countering US and Coalition partners around the world. We continue to see an increase in our adversaries’ usage of unmanned aerial systems, cyber-attacks, electronic warfare, short, medium, and long range missile advancements, and hypersonic/hyper glide missile technologies. These trends are occurring at a time when defense budgets are competing against other national strategic priorities and require our elected and uniformed senior leaders to choose a path that optimizes integration between the services, our allies, and our partners in the defense industry. It is in this context that the topic of Integrated Air and Missile Defense continues to be a timely discussion. The main theme for this year’s conference is integration. We address this theme with the following topics in mind: ·· Offense / Defense Integration of Missile Defense. ·· Mission Command in a hybrid threat environment. ·· BMDS architecture: Sensor / Shooter Integration. ·· What policy and strategies do we need to adjust? We have designed an exciting agenda and have invited an interesting and diverse group of speakers. Please mark your calendars and join us for this exhilarating event. COL(R) Art Loureiro Chairperson, 2016 IDGA Integrated Air and Missile Event Art Loureiro has over 30 years’ experience in the planning and execution of military operations in the homeland and abroad. As a career infantry officer, military strategist, and defense consultant, Art has served in a variety of roles developing policies, strategies and plans dealing with Homeland Defense, Defense Support of Civil Authorities, Missile Defense, and Army Space Operations. Art is currently a Senior Military Analyst with Boecore, Inc.—a woman owned small business that provides professional and technical services to a variety of clients in Cyber Operations, Space Systems, and Missile Defense. Meet the 2016 IAMD Chairperson: The Ballistic Missile Defense System is the 2nd largest Major Acquisition Program on the FY ’16 and ’17 Defense Budget at roughly $7 billion dollars per year.
