Asha for Education is a fully volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit with 50+ chapters around the world. We work with over 200 projects spread across the length and breadth of India. Projects address educational issues from pre-primary schooling to professional education in locations ranging from urban slums to isolated rural areas.

5. Recruiting Chair: Roles & Responsibilities
• To recruit new members for each team in the Asha-Chicago chapter and
ensuring that new recruits have the skills and experience necessary for the
role. The Recruitment chair will build and maintain relationships and is a
representative for Asha.
• Excited about joining Asha, 5 hours per week and requires a 1 year
commitment
• A self-starter with excellent communication skills. This position requires
quick understanding of the role requirements and the ability to match a
persons skills with that role.

6. Fundraising Chair: Roles & Responsibilities
• To identify and execute all fundraising projects. You will be responsible to
ensure that the team has enough funding to execute projects that Asha
wishes to take on. The Fundraising chair will work closely with the
Communications Chair and the Recruitment chair, to communicate
volunteer requirements (both quantity and skills) as new fundraising projects
are identified, and ensure communications are executed.
• Excited about joining Asha, 5 hours per week and requires a 1 year
commitment
• Experience in project management and experience fundraising and/or
writing grand proposals.

7. Communications Chair: Roles & Responsibilities
• To identify optimal communication outlets, develop and communicate things
on behalf of Asha. The Communications chair is the voice of Asha and is
extremely critical, because you will be responsible to ensure that the
communications are stated clearly and that the website is always up-to-date
and working properly. This position allows you to gain experience in
communications and gives you high visibility to the rest of the Asha team,
because you will be working closely with every chair in the organization.

• A self-starter with excellent communication skills and experience with digital
media is preferred.

8. Projects Committee
• The Sustainability Director ensures that each project that Asha is
sustainable at all levels and meets the goals brings projects to sustainable
end. Develops and follows up on sustainability strategy for each open
project.
• Project Steward follow a specific project and ensure that all deliverables
are met for the project. Manages relationship with project P.O.C; site visits,
Support A Child liaison, communicates fundraising needs, sharing status
reports with chapter.
• Excited about joining Asha, 2-3 hours per week and requires a 6 month
commitment.
• Project management experience, and excellent at working and leading
teams.

9. Recruiting Committee
• Campus / Organization Liaison: Responsible for recruiting professionals
from area corporations and/or universities, create strong relationships with
leaders of the collegiate and corporate organizations
• Strategic Partner Liaison: Responsible for managing strategic partner
relationships and posting vacant positions on volunteer job boards
• Conversion and Onboarding Specialist: Responsible for making final
close with volunteer candidates, defining roles, onboarding new members
into chapter
• Excited about joining Asha, 2-3 hours per week and requires a 6 month
commitment.

10. Fundraising Committee
• Team Asha Coordinator: In charge of directing fundraising events such as the
Chicago marathon
• Grants Coordinator: Researches, writes, and applies for grant funding
• Donor Relationship Manager: Manages the planned giving donations, builds
and manages relationships with institutional (corporate) donors, Builds and
manages relationships with individual donors
• Excited about joining Asha, 2-3 hours per week and requires a 1 year
commitment.

11. Communications Committee
• Chapter Liaison: Communicates news about Asha Central and other
Asha chapters and also role to assist with internal memos and
communication
• Social Media Manager: Handles social media outreach and explores
new outlets for advertising via social media
• Webmaster: Responsible for maintaining website and digital media.
• Marketing Publisher: Responsible for production of marketing materials
such as videos, fliers, and any other promotional graphics
• Excited about joining Asha, 2-3 hours per week and requires a 6 month
