INTRODUCTION
I have completed my internship in a leading ice
manufacturing plant located in Puthiyangadi, Kerala.
I will provide a brief overview of the the company I worked
for and the specific tasks and process I was involved in
during my internship.
Additionally, I will discuss the skills and knowledge I
acquired, the challenges I faced, and the lessons I learned
during my time at the plant.
1
COMPANY’S BACKGROUND
• Sea Side Ice Plant is a relatively new ice manufacturing company that was
incorporated in September 2019. Despite being a young company, Sea Side Ice
Plant has already established a reputation for producing high-quality ice and has
built a strong customer base.
• The company is located in Puthiyangadi, Kerala, which is known for its scenic
beauty and abundant seafood. The strategic location of the plant enables it to
cater to the needs of various industries, including fishing, hospitality, and
healthcare
• Sea Side Ice Plant is led by Mr. Ashraf M, who has extensive experience in the
ice manufacturing industry. Under his leadership, the company has implemented
the latest technology and equipment to enhance the production output and
maintain the quality of the ice. Mr. Ashraf's vision and expertise have been

PRODUCTION PROCESS
The following steps are used to carry out the production process.
 Water treatment: The water used in the ice-making process is treated to remove
any impurities and ensure that it is safe for consumption.
 Ice-making: The treated water is then fed into an ice-making machine, which is
equipped with a Kirloskar KCX2 reciprocating compressor. This compressor
compresses the refrigerant and circulates it through the evaporator coils, where
the heat from the water is absorbed and converted into cold. The cold then
freezes the water into ice.
 Harvesting and storage: Once the ice is formed, it is harvested using an ice
cutter, and then transferred to a storage area. The storage area is designed to
maintain a constant temperature below freezing point, which prevents the ice
from melting.
3
 Quality control: Throughout the production process, various quality control measures are
implemented to ensure that the ice meets the required standards. This includes testing the
water quality, monitoring the temperature and humidity levels in the production area, and
inspecting the ice for any impurities or defects.
 Packaging and distribution: The final step in the production process is to package the ice
and distribute it to customers. The ice is typically packed in bags or containers that are
designed to keep the ice frozen during transportation. The ice is then delivered to various
industries such as fishing, hospitality, and healthcare, where it is used for various purposes.

INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
 During my internship at Sea Side Ice Plant, I was able to gain hands-on experience in the ice manufacturing
process. I learned about the different types of ice-making machines, how to operate and maintain them, and
how to troubleshoot common issues.
 As an intern, I was also involved in the quality control process. I learned about the importance of testing the
water quality, monitoring the temperature and humidity levels, and inspecting the ice for any impurities or
defects. I also learned about the various standards and regulations that need to be followed in the ice
manufacturing industry.
 Another aspect of my internship was learning about the safety protocols that are in place at the plant. I was
trained on how to handle the ice-making machines and equipment safely, and how to protect myself and
others in case of emergencies.
 Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals. I learned
about the importance of effective communication and teamwork in ensuring the smooth operation of the
plant.
4
CONCLUSION
5
 My internship at Sea Side Ice Plant was an incredibly valuable learning
experience. I gained practical knowledge and skills related to ice
manufacturing, quality control, safety protocols, and teamwork. These
skills will be useful in my future career endeavors.
 The internship also helped me develop important professional skills such
as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and time management.
These skills will be valuable assets in my future career endeavors.
 I am grateful to Sea Side Ice Plant for providing me with the opportunity to
intern at their company. The experience was enriching and rewarding, and
I appreciate the support and guidance I received from the staff. I am
confident that the skills and knowledge I gained during my internship will
