- We understand this and we’ve been through disruptions before… In the early days of CAD, Autodesk was the disruptor. We helped the industry leverage digital technology to transition from manual processes, propelling it into the “Era of Documentation”, where we moved 2D drawings onto a computer with AutoCAD enabling CAD and CAE platforms that helped project teams automate traditional processes – delivering enhanced work-flows… We helped the industry transition to leverage digital modeling technology, propelling into the next disruption, the Era of Optimization where we are today. This is about using powerful 3D models and BIM processes not just for viewing but as the basis for all project designs, using visualizations, simulations and analysis consistently to truly optimize a design before a prototype is even built, where models that simulate an asset’s physical and performance characteristics are used to optimize a project – delivering enhanced project outcomes.
- In the AEC space, 3DRobotics are using Forge APIs to give them competitive advantage in the growing UAV market. Using Forge’s Recap API, 3DR developed a comprehensive augmented reality solution for survey engineers. Their application takes complex aerial scan data from on-site drones and integrates it directly and seamlessly into Infraworks. This helps a once complicated (and dangerous) process to be completed, analyzed and processed more efficiently.
