7. Summer Work Experience
Final reminder, if you are in grade 9, 10 or 11 and
want to use your summer job to earn up to 10
credits, see Ms Wegner immediately. All paperwork
from you must be set up by June 22. If this is not
possible, you can speak with Ms Wegner to find a
solution.

8. GETT Conference
Emma, Destri and Jordan attended the girls exploring the trades and
technologies conference at the 2018 Provincials.
160 girls learned about careers from 31 female mentors as they shared
their stories, experiences and knowledge.

12. Apprenticeship Incentive Grants
If you are a current RAP student or plan on
apprenticing after graduation, please be aware the
Government of Canada offers up to $4000 towards
your apprenticeship.
You receive $1000 after each of your first and
second year and then an additional $2000 when
you receive your Red Seal.

13. BCHS Scholarships for Grade 12s
The Barrhead Composite High School Awards
booklet is now available for pick up at the office.
If you are taking a semester or year off before
attending post-secondary, you are still eligible to
apply for these awards BUT you must apply this
year.

15. • Lethbridge College’s new two-year Agricultural
Enterprise Management (AEM) program will produce
the next generation of agri-food leaders. Bringing
together economics, management and science, this
program delivers a balanced curriculum to provide
students a strong foundation in the practice of farming
and the business of agriculture.
• If you haven’t decided about school yet, for anyone in
the Fall 2018 intake of this NEW Agricultural Enterprise
Management (AEM) program, Lethbridge College is
offering a $1,000 tuition credit to every confirmed Fall
2018 student.

16. Senior High Girls Volleyball Tryouts
The tryouts are open to current grade 9, 10 and 11
students who wish to tryout for high school
volleyball.
