This document discusses the current state of BIM in the UK construction industry and proposes next steps towards achieving higher levels of BIM. It notes that while many companies use BIM software, it is mostly limited to design and proprietary formats with little collaboration. Moving to Level 3 BIM using open standards like IFC and common data dictionaries could improve interoperability across the entire project lifecycle. BuildingSMART is working on standards, tools and training to advance open BIM adoption. Their projects include rules engines for regulations, cloud collaboration platforms, and energy optimization software. Training programs are in development to certify professionals in business, project and design management BIM competencies.

probably do level 2.5 but we don’t and wont!!!!

software.
