a range of digital products. Web search engines have set a high
standard and user expectations to match. We wanted
to understand how well this is being addressed in video
entertainment products today.

typically led the way in improving the
user search experience. Positive effects
on key performance metrics are
consistently observed.
For video entertainment products the
importance is comparable. Interaction
with the product should be a
frictionless experience with minimal
time-to-value.
Couple this with hardware limitations,
user input with TV remotes for
example, and the importance of search
becomes even more evident.
An initial assessment led to establishing
a list of features that are common to a
great user search experience.
