2. Symbolism:-
Symbolism is when the author uses an object or
reference to add deeper meaning to the story
using an object to stand for something else

4.  Dagger:- Foreshadowing and The throne and
Macbeths bloody destiny .
 Weather:- Turmoil in the play, Disorder
 Clothes:-What you are and what you want to
be.
 Dead child:-the end of family lines
 Eight kings:-Heirs that aren't Macbeths.
 Vision and hallucinations :-Both guilty and their
personal ambitions.
 Witches:-Evil and Darkness.
 The candle:- life and goodness, represents
desire to dispel evil and darkness
Symbolsin Macbeth:-

5. • It is usually used to represent
violence
• Once Macbeth and Lady Macbeth
embark upon their murderous
journey, blood comes to symbolize
their guilt, and they begin to feel that
their crimes have stained them in a
way that cannot be cleaned
• Blood symbolizes the guilt that sits
like a permanent stain and the
consciences of both Macbeth and
Lady Macbeth, one that hounds them
to their graves.
“Yet who would have thought the old man to have had so much
blood in him”

6. • Symbolizes innocent,purity,and peace of mind.
• Sleeplessness used as punishment for cruel deeds
• Macbeth, Lady Macbeth,Banquo have issues with
sleeplessness
• When Macbeth murders king, he says "Macbeth
does murders sleep” this shows that he feels his
feelings of guilt will now prevent him from sleeping
• Lady Macbeth sleepwalks ,this shows that also she
feels guilty and therefore she is un able to have
peaceful sleep and to be freed from her crime
• The overachieving message to the Audience is that
if you commit a sin, the guilt eventually catch up with
you and will be punished
“sleep no more, Macbeth does murders sleep, the innocent
sleep”

7. • Life ,Good VS Death, Evil
• the king symbols sun, sunset as his death
• Darkness used to represent confusion or
disorder or evil. It also symbols the evil
nature of Macbeth and the darkness in
Macbeths heart
• Sleepwalking,murders,apperance of the
Witches all take a place at night
• Lady Macbeth once craved the darkness but
later she carries a candle to dispel it, that
symbolizes her fear of darkness and evil.
“Stars hid your fires; let not light see my black and deep
desires”
