- Supply shortages limit global output growth. Global manufacturing PMI signaled the downturn of the sector during August, as the output growth declined in several major economies. The index dipped from 55.4 in July to 54.1 in August, the weakest in six months. The supply chain disruption and surging Delta variant cases caused the slowdown in output growth and companies became more cautious in spending and investment Major economies’ manufacturing sector continued to register marked expansion during August. Manufacturing PMIs for the US, Eurozone, and UK remained well above 50. The China’s economic activities has slowed due to the impact of lockdown measures to control the outbreak of COVID-19, as well as supply congestion and rising raw material costs. The ASEAN manufacturing PMI in August remained firmly in contraction territory at 44.5, as rising in COVID-19 cases and lockdown measures continued to impact the sector. For Thailand, the manufacturing sector shrank for a fourth straight month at the fastest rate due to the disruption from the third outbreak, affecting both demand and production in August. The PMI declined to 48.3 in August from 48.7 in July. The demand from abroad worsened with new export orders falling for the first time in six months. However, the number of COVID-19 cases has declined slightly. The number of new infected may have already reached the highest. Manufacturers expect to see improvements in economic conditions, as can be seen after each wave of the outbreak.

Beyond that, most people in Bangkok also speak English and the boom of Asian investment has led to many multinational companies relocating to there. "Meaning that the city now offers high-class facilities to international entrepreneurs and businessmen," Holidu added.
