INTRODUCTION
 Practitioners as well as researchers have frequently noted that
acquiring enough English vocabulary to perform well in reading and
writing tasks expected of the middle-university-school students is a
huge challenge for many language-minority students. It is worth
considering why vocabulary acquisition is such an intractable
challenge for so many second-language (L2) learners.
Understanding the degree of difficulty of the task of English
vocabulary learning, and the complexities involved in adding a new
item to one´s vocabulary, will help us establish reasonable goals for
L2 learners’ vocabulary acquisition, and should guide us in the
allocation of time and instructional resources to vocabulary in our
English classrooms. (K. Wagner, E. Muse, & R. Tannenbaum, 2007)
INTRODUCTION
 Furthermore, in order to help students meet the
challenge of vocabulary learning, it is important
to try to ascertain the optimal and engaging
conditions for L2 vocabulary acquisition.
Perhaps if we better understand the conditions
under which L2 vocabulary is most easily and
most efficiently acquired, we can create those
conditions in our classrooms. That is why the
idea for implementing some high tech for
learning vocabulary purposes, could enhance
motivation and practice of such vocabulary.
LEARNING ENGLISH VOCABULARY
 Vocabulary.co.il is a leading vocabulary website worldwide with the
best flash online word games. The vocabulary games include an
online word search, an online crossword puzzle, and hangman
online (our version is called HangMouse). Users can choose from
many lists the kind of vocabulary they want to practice. Vocabulary
games are popular amongst teachers due to their flexibility (they
can be used on smarboards) and usefulness.
 Many people build their English vocabulary through a blend of
methods — by taking English classes, reading books, watching
movies in English, and studying English with English language
software. Playing word and vocabulary games is a valuable part of
learning English. There are thousands of vocabulary words in our
vocabulary lists.

 Vocabulary.co.il is a fun educational website dedicated to
helping users polishing their English skills. It offers Free Online Word
Games which are specifically designed to enhance vocabulary
skills and to motivate people to learn through fun practice in
spelling, phonics, and vocabulary.

vocabulary. This comes useful to students who
intend to certify their knowledge of the English
language or who are interested in studying abroad.

word games are organized with dozens of
categories of vocabulary lists. By making
connections between words and ideas, and
between words and pictures, we build vocabulary
skills. Connections between vocabulary words
make the process of building vocabulary skills faster
and more efficient. This grouping of knowledge by

learning website.

Using this on-line game application can help
students learn and re enforce vocabulary
previously acquired in an easy and engaging
way to develop from basic sentences to more
complex ones.
A computer lab (with a stable internet
connection) is required to use this webpage with
your entire class (if you want each student to train
individually)
Students can practice pronunciation and
spelling to be able to master vocabulary not only
in written, but also in speaking.
We need certain resources in order to get access
to these games. For example: computer,
cellphones, etc.
This also comes with a series of different quizzes
to see how much vocabulary they have learned.
Another advantage of using it is the activities
help students improve their memorization skills.
This webpage you need internet connection in
order to play the games online.
Another advantage this tool has is that it
contains a wide array of topics to study. Students
can pick the section they’re interested in.
EXAMPLE
 The teacher will provide some activities and games related
foods. The games would involve associating an image to its
respective word and asking the student to read the word aloud,
so as to practice pronunciation.
EXAMPLE
 Once the student has been exposed to an acceptable number of
words, the teacher can direct their students to the website to have
them practice their recently acquired vocabulary. Students will
choose the appropriate section (in this case food) and reinforce the
contents seen at class.

INTRODUCTION  Practitioners as well as researchers have frequently noted that acquiring enough English vocabulary to perform well in reading and writing tasks expected of the middle-university-school students is a huge challenge for many language-minority students. It is worth considering why vocabulary acquisition is such an intractable challenge for so many second-language (L2) learners. Understanding the degree of difficulty of the task of English vocabulary learning, and the complexities involved in adding a new item to one´s vocabulary, will help us establish reasonable goals for L2 learners’ vocabulary acquisition, and should guide us in the allocation of time and instructional resources to vocabulary in our English classrooms. (K. Wagner, E. Muse, & R. Tannenbaum, 2007)

INTRODUCTION  Furthermore, in order to help students meet the challenge of vocabulary learning, it is important to try to ascertain the optimal and engaging conditions for L2 vocabulary acquisition. Perhaps if we better understand the conditions under which L2 vocabulary is most easily and most efficiently acquired, we can create those conditions in our classrooms. That is why the idea for implementing some high tech for learning vocabulary purposes, could enhance motivation and practice of such vocabulary.

The vocabulary games include an online word search, an online crossword puzzle, and hangman online (our version is called HangMouse). Users can choose from many lists the kind of vocabulary they want to practice. Vocabulary games are popular amongst teachers due to their flexibility (they can be used on smarboards) and usefulness.  Many people build their English vocabulary through a blend of methods — by taking English classes, reading books, watching movies in English, and studying English with English language software. Playing word and vocabulary games is a valuable part of learning English. There are thousands of vocabulary words in our vocabulary lists.

Advantages Disadvantages Using this on-line game application can help students learn and re enforce vocabulary previously acquired in an easy and engaging way to develop from basic sentences to more complex ones. A computer lab (with a stable internet connection) is required to use this webpage with your entire class (if you want each student to train individually) Students can practice pronunciation and spelling to be able to master vocabulary not only in written, but also in speaking. We need certain resources in order to get access to these games. For example: computer, cellphones, etc. This also comes with a series of different quizzes to see how much vocabulary they have learned. Another advantage of using it is the activities help students improve their memorization skills. This webpage you need internet connection in order to play the games online. Another advantage this tool has is that it contains a wide array of topics to study. Students can pick the section they’re interested in.
  • 9. EXAMPLE  The teacher will provide some activities and games related foods. The games would involve associating an image to its respective word and asking the student to read the word aloud, so as to practice pronunciation.
