This semester, I was placed in a team to solve child poverty in New Zealand as a "wicked problem", which are "impossible to solve simply or in their
entirety". Our solution focused on creating a lasting difference to not only the children who are affected but to their families as well by installing a
buddy program which also provided low–income single mothers with skill–based workshops. We agreed to name our solution "Empower", and

These rules included having weekly checks in which members checked each other's work and deciding when the meetings are held, as well as being
respectful and courteous to other members. I believe that these rules resulted in trust (which I believe motivated us to build a stronger relationship
with each other). The rules also made the group feel a sense of clarity, as it laid out expectations for everyone, and allowed us to focus on working
together effectively.
While working on the Challenge, there were two instances when a conflict was present. The first occurred during the writing of the Milestone Report,
in which a member did not gain other members' approval to make major revisions a few hours before the deadline. Not only did the team members
suffer unnecessary stress, some were quite angry at this member's violation of the rules we wrote out together. The second case involved a member who
thought the group had unfairly given them too much work. Both these cases were resolved quite easily through effective communication, and
improvements were seen quickly. I think that conflict may occur naturally in many, if not all, group environments as a result of people having different

In my research on child poverty, I read a scholarly journal entitled UNICEF 'Child Poverty in Perspective' Report: A view from the UK. In the

Buckle. The social classes are simply separated by the way you look and the money you spend. These results affect a child in a very negative way,
which is not healthy for them. Many children often worry about what others think about them, which can lead into multiple mental illnesses such as
depression and anxiety. Each and every child is put on this Earth for a reason, the high class does not have the right to belittle them for the way they
are forced to

Poverty has long been associated with child abuse and neglect rates. It would seem almost common sense that the lack of resources that causes poverty
would include items that are essential for the safe and healthy development of children. While child abuse and neglect can be found across all income
brackets, poverty is most often considered the highest risk factor.
