3. Capurganá is located in the northwest of Colombia. On
the Uraba gulf of Chocó, close to colombo- panameña
border.
4. In Capurganá the tourist can
enjoy this too quiet place, there
aren’t cars or motorcycles.

(Antioquia) and Capurganá.

The flights are just in day leaving
from Medellín at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m.

Navas airport in Capurganá.
8. Unfortunately the increase of
guerrilla and trigger happy groups
have alienated the tourism . On
December 12th of 1999 Capurgana
was victim of guerrilla attack
, however since 2005 the
government improve the security.
On the other hand, the global
warming contributing to the
environment changes.
Regrettably, the beach “La Virgen
del Uvito “ was invaded by the sea
and removed all the sand exposing
the coral cliff.
9. A social action ecotourism project, supported by
UNODC, offers total rest between the jungle and the sea of
Chocó.
Capurganá has always distinguished itself as a tourist
destination for nature lovers and for those who want to
break by the sea, in excellent facilities, and away from the
bustle of big cities.
It is another type of tourism, far too messy of traffic and
bustle of the clubs in some coastal cities, but it has always
been characterized by these great qualities. In the past
Capurganá was a territory victim of violence and trafficking
in arms and drugs.
