This presentation discusses hybrid cloud strategies and the Catalan University Services Consortium's approach. Some key points: - The consortium provides IaaS and PaaS services to academic institutions using an open source hybrid cloud model with OpenNebula. - A true hybrid cloud consists of private and public clouds with shared features to allow for flexibility between the cloud types. - The consortium uses OpenNebula to manage resources across its private clouds and a public cloud provider, allowing for "cloud bursting" between the environments. - An open source vCloud driver was developed to integrate VMware vCloud infrastructure and allow management of VMs, networks, and other resources seamlessly across private and public clouds.

It includes virtualization and monitoring drivers.
