5. PLOT
Mathilde Loise wants to be a high-class woman,
but her status does not allow her to be. One
day she goes to a party wearing a borrowed
necklace. She losts it and she and her husband
have to work hard in oder to buy a new one
7. EXPOSITION
Mathilde Loisel feels sad and dissapointed of her
social status. She wishes she were a rich and
high society woman. She is not happy with the
life she has. Her days are full of regret and
sorrow.
8. RISING ACTION
One day, Mr. Loisel went home and told his wife that
he had received and invitation to a party, but Mathilde
refused it inmediately because she has no dress and no
jewels to wear. He boght her a dress. In addition, she
went to friend´s house to borrow a necklace to look
good for the party.
9. CLIMAX
When the party finished, the Loisels went back
home. At that moment, Madame Loisel realized
that she was no longer in possession of the
necklace that Madame Forestier gave her. She
and Mr. Loisel got worried because the neckclace
was gone for good.
10. FALLING ACTION
Madame and Mr. Loisel looked for a similar necklace. It
costed 36,000 francs. Mr. Loisel gathered 18,000 ,and the
other 18,000 they gathered from borrowing money. They
had to work hard the next 10 years in order to pay all the
money they owed.
11. RESOLUTION
Finally the Loisels payed all her debts, but Madame Loisel
was not the same; she had aged and was no longer a pretty
woman. One day she saw Madame Forestier at the park and
told her what the did and payed in oder to give her the
necklace. Madame Forestier laughed and told her that her
necklaces was a fake of 500 francs.
