What isTAACCCT?
TAACCCT is abbreviated for:Trade Adjustment AssistanceCommunity College and
CareerTrainingGrant Program.On September 26th, 2011, the Department of Labor announced
Nearly $500 million in grants to community colleges around the country for targeted training
and workforce development.This initiative was created to help economically dislocated
workers who are changing careers.The grant supports partnerships between community
colleges and employers to develop programs that provide pathways to good jobs, including
building instructional programs that meet specific industry needs.

• After receiving the grant, faculty began working on a model to align industry skills to core curriculum.
After completing the model, several new certificates of completion and industry credentials were
originated!
• Certificates requirements range from 6 – 33 hrs.
• December 2014 – first Certificate Ceremony, 44 certificate were presented to 28 students.
• Complete a Certificate of Completion and start the job search while finishing a degree.

Exciting equipment has been
purchased to enhance learning
at Butler including 3D printers,
Cintiq’s, a newly completed
green screen room, and Cisco
telepresence equipment to be
used in blended classes.
Phase 3: Partnerships!
The IT Institute recently aligned the
curriculum for Interactive & 3D
Technologies to Mind Fire @
Bethany. Student can earn a
Bachelors of Arts degree in 3D
computer animation from Bethany
by transferring their Butler IT
Institute hours.

Internship Opportunities
• The IT Institute is seeking employers interested in working with students
who are working on and have earned certificates of completion in specific
skillsets. Secretary Perez, Department of Labor, has invested $100 million in
grants to create innovate apprenticeship programs across the US.
