8. Things to Think About
• There is no “OCLC Membership Culture” in the Middle East.
How to sell this concept during the meetings?
• Should NON-Members attend as well as Members?
• The meetings must carry obvious VALUE for the attendees.
• Should there be an OCLC product update?
• A survey could help out in identifying the meetings content.
• Meetings to be held in Arabic language (preferable).
• Should local agents such AAS and Logos attend? Who else
from OCLC should attend?
• Responsibilities: Host institution? OCLC?
• Costs: Travel – Hotel – Logistics, etc.

There is not the "community culture" among these countries. These are national governments, not "states". There is also no long OCLC culture. Imagine the "delivery" problem here. The expectation of actual delivery drives a lot of the "discovery" motivation. It does little good to discover an item at a WC library if they can't get their hands on it.
Also, BRANDSCAPE (Lorcan) is very important. If they can "do it" without being "helped" by the USA, they will choose a local solution. This is much different than China for example.
