Nano metal oxides- TiO2,MgO and AgTiO2
Two types of structures -Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles
Photo catalysis is the activity
occurring when a light source interacts
with the surface of semiconductor
materials, the so called photo
catalysts.
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) semiconductor nanoparticles are one kind of
important and promising photocatalysts in photocatalysis because of
their unique optical and electronic properties
nano-sized titanium dioxide photo catalysts can have high activity in
the photo degradation of a wide range of organic and inorganic
contaminants in water.
It is believed that photo catalysis reaction eliminates wastewater
organic pollutants can be completely degraded to harmless

pollutants such as herbicides,
carboxylic acids and alcohols
completely to carbon
dioxide, water and simple
minerals
 Several studies have proved
that TiO2 nanostructures, in
particular, titanium dioxide
nanotubes (TNTs) have their
performance improved in
photovoltaics and photo
catalysis compared to nano
particulate forms of titanium
oxide
 applications of titanium oxide:
 antiseptic and antibacterial compositions
 Degrading organic contaminants and germs
 As a UV-resistant material
 Manufacture of printing ink, self-cleaning ceramics and
glass, coating, etc.
 Making of cosmetic products such as sunscreen creams,
whitening creams, morning and night creams, skin milks,
etc.
 Used in the paper industry for improving the opacity of
paper.

A fibroblast is a type of cell that contributes to the formation of connective
tissue, a fibrous cellular material that supports and connects other tissues or

Fibroblasts secrete collagen proteins that help maintain the structural framework
of tissues.
Silver nanoparticles
The potential of Ag/NPs has been widely utilized in nanomedicine, drug delivery,
cosmetics, electronic application, and environmental protection .
Ag/NPs have special chemical and physical properties, such as surface enhanced
Raman scattering and optical behavior, electrical conductivity, high thermal,
chemical stability, nonlinear, and catalytic activity .
Ag/NPs are commonly used in the antimicrobial field to treatment microbes such
as fungi, virus, and bacteria .
Due to their proven antimicrobial properties, Ag/NPs are widely used in different
applications, such as colloidal coating, and in paints,
Ag/NPs used in textile industry, where Ag/NPs are utilized in the filtration
membranes of water due to the slow release rate of the membrane to be utilized
as a protective bulkhead against different bacteria and other microbes present in
the water .
• Silver nano particle preparation:
• Different physical methods, such as condensation and evaporation processes are
performed for the synthesis of Ag/NPs.
• For example, the synthesis of Ag/NPs in solid form requires thermal decomposition
method with small 10 nm size and to synthesize Ag/NPs was reported by using arc
discharge technique.
• Titanium with Silver nano particle preparation:
• The doping TiO2 with metallic Ag is intended to activate TiO2-AgNP or titania
photocatalyst under visible light both for bacterial inactivation and dye
photodegradation.
• The preparation of TiO2-AgNP performed by several methods including sol-gel,
impregnation, precipitation, and photocatalytic deposition
• The titania has been employed as a photocatalyst in several photocatalytic
reactions due to its high photoactivity, low cost, low toxicity and good chemical and
thermal stability
