Career Objective
I am a graduate of business and management seeking to further my career. I have obtained a
lot of real world, hands on business experience from working in the retail sector and in my
current position in the meat industry as a trainee sales representative and sales development
administrator. I am keen to develop experience in new areas, and take on new tasks and
challenges to further my knowledge and skills in order to succeed and further my career in a
corporate environment.

Current Employment
Carnbrooke Meats Ltd
After completing my Higher National Diploma I acquired a position in Carnbrooke
Meats Ltd. The company is a wholesale Butcher’s that supplies a large number of
outlets such as hotels and restaurants with a wide range of various meat products.
I currently hold the position of Trainee Sales Representative and Sales Administrator
for the company as well as under-taking responsibility of the Butchers shop that is
open to the public.
I have been given the opportunity to experience all aspects of the business including
working on the factory floor, deliveries, health and safety, shadowing a sales
representative etc. My role within the office is varied and broad, allowing me to gain
experience in many areas. I have extensive experience in telecommunications dealing
with customers on a daily basis and generating and maintaining a relationship with all
of the company’s accounts. I control process and record orders. I also obtain and
generate new cliental and sales for the business. I generate data spreadsheets to keep a
record of all sales from the business’s accounts and review which customers need
regular visits from our Sales Manager to help push them into purchasing more
products and helping the business grow. From this job I have gained I.T skills in
programs such as excel and word as well as producing relevant spreadsheets. I have
also gained new experience in selling business to business working with Head Chefs
in top hotels and restaurants.
I am currently in charge of managing the butchers shop every Saturday. As well as
selling to consumers I am in charge of monitoring the levels of stock and monitoring
what the top selling products are for the shop. I carry out a weekly Profit and Loss
spreadsheet and report which I present to management, detailing what profit the shop

made that particular week and the gross margin the business was receiving from that
outlet.
Work Experience
Biggerstaff’s of Kinallen Country Store 2009- 2014
After finishing Secondary School I obtained a position in Biggerstaff’s of Kinallen
Country store as a shop assistant working on the shop floor and behind the tills. I held
my position here for five years. It was my responsibility to keep the store and stock
room neat, to tidy and keep stock in rotation to ensure that the earliest dates where on
the shop floor and that no stock was being displayed past its “use by date”. From this
job I have gained valuable organizational skills, selling and people skills. I have
received high praise for my good customer service skills and regularly had customers
remark on my politeness to the store owner. This job has taught me skills in sales,
working behind tills and ensuring that they are kept right so that there are no
discrepancies at the end of the night when the totals are being counted.
Bagnal’s Castle
5th
year in Dromore High required me to participate in work experience. I carried out
my placement in Bagnal’s Castle which is situated in Newry. My task in the archive’s
included creating and recording a database of all the historical books that the museum
had in its collection. I found this extremely interesting as I gained new skills in
documenting and recording information and creating databases on the computer.

Sales- over 6 years’ experience working in retail and wholesale.
Working under pressure- The meat industry is a highly fast paced and pressurized
environment that required working long hours to ensure delivery of goods on time.
Interest/Activities
I am a very successful exhibitor of a breed of dog known as Scottish Terriers. We are
the top winning kennel in Ireland for this breed and we campaign all across Ireland
and the UK. In 2010 I won the award of Top Irish Junior handler and represented
Ireland at Crufts in the International final. It is a wonderful hobby that has allowed me
to make friendships all around the world. It has thought me to be a confident person
and how to conduct myself in a professional manner.
My other activity that I excel in is Clay Pigeon Shooting. I have excelled in this activity
as I have made history in the sport numerous times and set numerous records. I have
been shooting for the Northern Ireland Shooting team since 2011. This has also
helped me in work as it has made me very focused on tasks given to me so that I
perform them to the best of my ability and am very capable of work in a team due to
my participation in the Northern Ireland Team and working with them as a team to
win. It has also given me a drive to succeed and confidence in everything I do.
