Notas del editor
These are our goals for you:
We enable you with MSFT’s productivity tools that are world class and laser focused on the end user
We use MSFT’s cloud service model (where it makes sense) to enable you to streamline your infrastructure by moving commoditized aps to the cloud
This enables you to be more nimble rather than be bound by having to manage aging infrastructure
So that you can start providing your business with more innovative solutions, and avoiding shadow IT (where business units make their own SaaS decisions on their own).
And we assume you want you build that SaaS foundation by focusing on security first, ensuring the environment is as manageable as yours is today, and that you need to minimize surprises along the way and in your steady state.
There will be a pop up / customer quote later.
Stop and ask questions – “What are your main objectives?” They’ll may have no other comments. “Do you have any other initial priorities, and what are they?” “Are you familiar with shadow IT? How successful have you been at getting in front of shadow IT?”
Finally, “What are your main concerns about “XYZ platform (or the cloud in general)”
In business since 1992, a MSFT partner throughout
Changed course of the business from being a voice/messaging SI to a full Microsoft UC/Cloud SaaS provider in 2009.
1300 deployments of MSFT Cloud and On Premises productivity solutions since 2007.
We provide services from envisioning all the way through implementation and migration to end user and application / server support.
Here are the types of higher ed customers that Enabling has helped throughout the years, most of whom have had multiple projects and maintain ongoing relationships.
For instance, at Broward, a 50,000 student college in FL, we helped them with OCS 2007 years ago, and now we’re rolling out Office 365 Exchange Online for faculty/staff.
UTMB has worked with Enabling on OCS/Lync/Skype for 3 upgrades/rollouts, the last of which enabled 7000 users with enterprise voice.
At NAU, they’re expanding their Skype compliant contact center with Enabling’s help,
First, we ensure your AD is cloud-ready and ready to integrate with Office 365, so you have a clean, manageable environment for the future. It’s often a good time to step back and optimize things as you tie your on premises directory with the cloud.
We use Azure Active Directory to integrate your Identity into MSFT SaaS and Azure, but also with third party SaaS. This is an important differentiator. We are not just interested in getting the O365 service activated, because by simply moving the data and eliminating servers on premises doesn’t help the end user much. But we’re also going to want to talk about your interest in using your identity to extend single sign on to third party SaaS apps (i.e. Salesforce, Concur, SAP) so that users can have SSO to other cloud apps, and so that you only have one source of password management in the organization. This closes a myriad of security loopholes and sometimes panicked situations when employees depart your organization, and you’re scrambling to turn off access to your SaaS apps that they have been using.

Next, we will want to discuss your concerns about enabling users with access to company files and data from their smartphones and tablets. While it’s a key value proposition for end users, they may not know of the risks of putting company data in the cloud. Maybe they missed the news about Apple iCloud and Jennifer Lawrence’s photos! So if you don’t trust them to follow your policy or common sense, you can control access, audit usage, and enforce policy when devices enroll or access sensitive company data. We use Intune and sometimes, Office 365’s free MDM to take steps to properly secure devices.
CLICKControlling enrollment and being able to selectively wipe devices is one thing, but securing the actual data is another. We will want to discuss how you can use MSFT’s tools to control unauthorized sharing of data and how you can still remain compliant in the cloud. Using Office 365’s Compliance Center and sometimes Intune, we can help you can apply templates or create very specific rules for data loss prevention.
CLICK
Even though MSFT guarantees three nines (99.9%) of uptime and in fact in 2015, delivered 99.95% availability worldwide, we will want to discuss how you can ensure the service is predictable. We’ll want to discuss optimal network connectivity and ongoing management. We can talk about the similarities and differences between today’s management tools and techniques and the cloud’s. We’ll want to discuss how you get support and what options are for getting visibility into root cause of issues as they come up.
CLICK (displays all apps)
Of course, we can discuss what all is possible with the MSFT application portfolio. We like to separate fact from fiction, because we have to deliver on our promises. So you can expect an honest eyes wide open explanation of what’s available and what we know about the roadmap. On some cases (i.e. with Cloud PBX), we may advise to consider a hybrid scenario for a painless migration.
CLICK
And last but not least, our shared goal, I’m sure… is to give users the right tools and data at the right time on the right device. So to do so, we’ll discuss the last three feet, if appropriate, and the experience on the device that they will be using. If desirable, we can bring in a complete kit onsite to show you and your decision makers what the experience will be on the various devices they may be using. This Customer Immersion Experience is a key way to socialize your ideas, get buy in, and get prioritization on what you should do first, second , etc.
CLICK (bumps up the Access block, brings in OCM)
To further the end user adoption and your ultimate ROI, we'll be excited to show you our packaged and customizable organizational change management tools that actuallyhelp win Enabling the 2015 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award in the Communications stack.
How do we do all that? By addressing and helping you in all aspects of the IT lifecycle, including Planning, Design, License acquisition, implementation and migration, organizational change management, and ongoing support and operations.
We take three tracks in a project, giving important focus to the user adoption / people work stream, as well as to IT management, governance, and support.
In late 2013 we found religion about organizational change management, you may hear us abbreviate that to OCM. We had been delivering technology projects with success, as recognized by our Partner of the Year awards in 2009, 2010, and another runner up trophy in 2012.
However, we reflected back on all these projects, which had started well from a technical standpoint, and wondered why user adoption hadn’t gone viral. We found that organic adoption may happen within IT and in fact within some cultures, but more often, full ROI was not being achieved due to general business users not being educated nor motivated to make the most out of their available tools.
So we got organized. We gathered up all the various materials and services that we’d created, and branded and packaged them. Now we have templates for user communications, surveys, how-to guides and videos. We can help you create specific success criteria for your organization, and most importantly, specific messaging for your end user profiles about “What’s in it for them”
You’ll notice we use an analogy to the movie making industry in our branding, because to properly launch a game changing application or capability, users must be more engaged than in typical IT projects. Our modular approach lets you pick pieces of our comprehensive Organization Change program that best suits you.
The FastTrack center is a group within MSFT to help with the provisioning and guidance to turn up the services online. They were created to ensure organizations without a certified MSFT business partner have success when getting started with the online service.
They “Provide guidance about” things, with a project manager. The expectation is that the customer (or a business partner like Enabling) handle all hands on configuration. Their guidance is free. Details about what they cover can be found at https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt651706.aspx
Some of what they don’t cover is shown on this slide or at https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt651704.aspx
We have successfully worked in conjunction with the FastTrack center for other customers’ first foray into Office 365.
In fact, if desired, there are some areas where Enabling may be able to reduce its manual labor (and therefore customer cost) by engaging the Fast Track Center as a part of the team. So we’ll want to discuss that when we get more familiar with your situation.
