1. My name is Christine Case and I'm an Independent Graphic Designer from Cranston RI.
2. To give you some background, I'll tell you a little about myself and my experience. I graduated from Rhode Island College in ‘96 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. While studying for my degree, I had the opportunity to gain experience in my field.
3. The department of News and Public Relations at RIC hired me as their in-house graphic designer to create graphics, posters and ads for various departments within the college. This gave me an edge in landing my first job.
4. Just a few short months after graduation, I was hired as a full time graphic designer at Robert Falcone Design — a design studio located in East Greenwich. As a full-time employee there for a over seven years, I worked on a variety of projects for clients like Roger Williams Park Zoo, Textron, Fleet Bank, and Citizens Bank — just to name a few.
5. The Staying Alive logo I designed for a new exhibit at Roger Williams Park Zoo was published in Rockport’s Logo Lounge Master Library.
6. In 99, I created the brand for Fleet Bank’s Y2K conversion which was used throughout the bank’s entire conversion process. I enjoyed my time working at Falcone Design and I had great projects and a lot of experience. After taking a couple of months off after my first child in 2003, I decided to start my own graphic design business.
7. Through the years of running my own business, I’ve had a consistent flow of work through referrals, networking and being at the right place at the right time when there was a need. With over 18 years in the field, I truly pride myself on offering my clients the highest-quality design work and customer service. When someone hires me as their designer, they're in good hands. I’ll do everything in my power to make them happy with their project.
8. So what services do I provide for my clients?
9. One of the services I provide is creative direction.
10. But you might be wondering, “What exactly does a creative director do?”
11. As I creative director, I come up with unique ideas and memorable concepts to communicate a clear, concise message to my client’s target audience.
12. This multi-pocket folder I created for Ocean Spray Cranberries is a good example of creative direction that I handled from concept to completion.
13. The purpose of the folder is to provide information about the company and area to new or potential employees. I created the headline “Grow your Career” as well as writing the text throughout the folder, I researched for the appropriate graphics to be used and designed the layout of the folder.
14. Another service I provide is Graphic Design. In addition to my role as a Creative Director, I’m also a very talented graphic designer. specializing in brand identity design.
15. What exactly IS brand identity design? It’s the face of your business. It sets the stage for how a company is perceived by their target audience. For the design aspect, it usually includes logo design, stationary system and business collateral. Good identity design will send a clear message to your target audience about your products or services.
16. I created this brand identity for Bead Twins, a company owned by our very own, Lauren Hopkins. Bead Twins creates unique hand-made jewelry designs for every occasion. The logo reflects the beauty of the high-end jewelry and we’ve taken the color theme and tone and used it for the stationary system design seen here, the website which is in progress from RI Web Gurus, as well as the brochure design, which is one of my projects in progress. This consistency is called “staying in brand”
17. Currently, most of my work comes from three sources. The first category is Marketing Firms, PR Firms and Advertising Agencies. The second is small businesses and start up companies. And the third is large corporations.
18. Much of my bread and butter, repeat business projects come from marketing firms, public relations firms and advertising agencies. With this type of client work, I'm hired as a subcontractor to act as a Creative Director on advertising projects, as a Graphic Designer for various business collateral or on an as-needed addition to a creative team. When an agency has a project that they really need to WOW the client with, I’m who they’re looking for. I call my services at Bootcamp Designer, Creative Special Ops. I provide targeted messaging, creativity and design skills along with exceptional customer service. And speaking of PR Firms, I recently had the pleasure of working with fellow BNI member, Gregg Perry, of Perry Public Relations. We just finished up a project, it’s hot off the press.
19. It’s a power point deck designed for the city of Providence, as a selling point to bring new businesses into the city. To give you an example of the layout and design, here are a few pages of the 83-page Powerpoint deck. This is the cover.

21. The second source for my work is the small businesses and start up companies.
22. Here’s an example of some recent projects I worked on for fellow BNI member, Don Fuchs who owns his own travel agency here in RI. I’ve had the pleasure of working with him on a variety of projects shown here for Destination Weddings and Honeymoons including logo design, business card design, flyers and brochure design. And now he and I have another logo project in progress.
23. The third source for my work is large corporations. Xeros Cleaning is a clientI have that’s an example of a large corporation with a need for my creative direction and graphic design services. A company like Xeros is a great referral for me. They already have an in-house design department, but there are so many projects that I work in conjunction with the full-time creative director who subcontracts various projects to me like these.
24. This is a 3-dimensional counter display I designed is currently in the production phase and will be used within various dry cleaners to explain the benefits of Xeros Cleaning for both the consumer and the environment through the polymer bead cleaning process.
25. This is a mock up of store exterior signage I designed which is a project that’s currently in progess.
