STUDENT’S BIOGRAPHY
Christine Faith Buscano was born on October 5, 1998 in
Brooke’s Point, Palawan. Daughter of Mr. June Buscano
and Mrs. Ma. Olivia Buscano. Her father is a church
minister while her mother is a teacher. She has a brother
named Jedidiah Buscano. Faith is a family oriented
because she knows that her family members are always
be there to support as she reaches for her dreams in life.
She graduated at Paratungon Elementary School and Brooke’s Point National High School.
Currently, she is studying Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English at Palawan
State University- Brooke’s Point. Faith works very hard, she does not let any obstacles
break her. She hopes that someday she will be a good, effective and efficient teacher that
will produce oriented, hardworking and dedicated students that will help the community.
Amy Rose Samma was born on August 15, 1999
in Mainit Brooke’s Point, Palawan. She is the
eldest daughter of Mr. Ambring Samma and Mrs.
Rosemary Samma. A very responsible and loving
daughter and sister to her siblings.
She graduated at Mainit Elementary School and Brooke’s Point National
High School. And currently studying Bachelor of Secondary Education
Major in Mathematics at Palawan State University – Brooke’s Point.
STUDENT’S BIOGRAPHY
Christian Mark Cinco was born on October 19,
1998 in Brgy. Pangobilian, Brooke’s Point,
Palawan. He is the son of Mr. Gabriel David Cinco
and Mrs. Sheirlet Delgado Cinco. He is a lovable,
hardworking and responsible son to his parents.
STUDENT’S BIOGRAPHY
He graduated his elementary at Maranan Elementary School and his high
school at Aramaywan National High School. Currently, he is studying
Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino at Palawan State
University – Brooke’s Point.
WHAT IS EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY?
• Educational Technology involves the disciplined application of
knowledge for the purpose of improving learning, instruction and/or
performance. (Michael Spector)
• Educational technology is a systematic, iterative process for designing
instruction or training used to improve performance. (The Encyclopedia
of Educational Technology)
• Educational technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitating
learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing
appropriate technological processes and resources. (The Association for
Educational Communications and Technology (AECT))
TECHNOLOGY: BOON OR BANE
 Technology is widely used by people nowadays. It is a blessing for
man. With it we can do a lot of things that we can’t do in the past.
Technology really helps us to improve our community. But
technology is bane if we do not use it properly.
 According to Mr. Cinco, technology is boon because it helps people
to make the task easier. But it could be a bane if we abuse the use of
it. Therefore, technology can be a boon or a bane depending on how
the user uses it.
Systematic Approach
 A process used to determine the viability of a project or procedure
based on the experiential application of clearly defined and
repeatable steps and an evaluation of the outcomes. The goal of a
systematic approach is to identify the most efficient means to
generate consistent, optimum results.
 The approach that is methodical, repeatable and able to be learned
by a step-by-step procedure.
Conceptual Model of Learning
It is said that there is an existence of number of models and
theories about learning that is ideal in achieving instructional
goal through preferred application of Educational
Technology. These are:
• Meaningful Learning
•Discovery Learning
•Generative Learning
•Constructivism
• Meaningful Learning
Meaningful Learning gives focus to new experience that
departs from the learning of a sequence of words but gives
attention to meaning. It assumes that students already have prior
knowledge that is relevant to new learning. And students are
willing to perform class work to find connection between what
they already know and what they can learn.
• Discovery Learning
This is differentiated from reception (meeting point of meaningful
and discovery learning) in which ideas are presented to students in a well-
organized way, such as through detailed set of instructions to complete an
experiment. Ever recalled why you are so nervous, yet very excited in
doing experiments? It is because of the idea that you are about to discover
something first hand.
In discovery learning, students perform tasks to uncover what is to
be learned. New ideas and new decisions are generated in the learning
process, regardless of the need to move on and depart from the structured
lesson previously set. In here, it is important that the students become
personally engaged and NOT subjected by the teacher.
• Generative Learning
We have active listeners who attend to learning events and
generate meaning from this experience and draw inferences thereby
creating a personal model of explanation to the new experience in the
context of existing knowledge. This is viewed as different from the
simple process of storing information. Motivation and responsibility
are crucial to this domain of learning. Examples are result driven;
creativity and resiliency. This gives emphasis to what can be done
with the pieces of information not only on access to them.
• Constructivism
The learner builds a personal understanding through
appropriate learning activities and a good learning
environment. The most accepted constructivism principles are:
• Learning consists in what a person can actively assemble for
himself and not what he can just ask from someone else.
• Role of learning is to help the individual live to his personal
world.
New Bloom’s Taxonomy of Thinking Skills
Bloom's Revised Taxonomy
• Lorin Anderson, a former student of Bloom, and David Krathwohl
revisited the cognitive domain in the mid-nineties and made some
changes, with perhaps the three most prominent ones being (Anderson,
Krathwohl, Airasian, Cruikshank, Mayer, Pintrich, Raths, Wittrock,
2000):
• changing the names in the six categories from noun to verb forms
• rearranging them as shown in the chart below
• creating a processes and levels of knowledge matrix
• This new taxonomy reflects a more active form of thinking and is
perhaps more accurate.
• Remembering
- Recall or retrieve previous learned information.
• Understanding
- Comprehending the meaning, translation, interpolation,
and interpretation of instructions and problems. State a
problem in one's own words.
• Applying
- Use a concept in a new situation or unprompted use of
an abstraction. Applies what was learned in the
classroom into novel situations in the work place.
• Analyzing
- Separates material or concepts into component parts
so that its organizational structure may be understood.
Distinguishes between facts and inferences.
• Evaluating
- Make judgments about the value of ideas or materials.
• Creating
- Builds a structure or pattern from diverse elements.
Put parts together to form a whole, with emphasis on
creating a new meaning or structure.
Edgar Dale's Cone of Experience
• Dale’s Cone of Experience is a visual model that is composed of eleven
(11) stages starting from concrete experiences at the bottom of the cone
then it becomes more and more abstract as it reach the peak of the
cone. Also, according to Dale, the arrangement in the cone is not based
on its difficulty but rather based on abstraction and on the number of
senses involved. The experiences in each stages can be mixed and are
interrelated that fosters more meaningful learning.
• It is also said that the more senses that are involved the better learning
will be attained but it does not mean that concrete experiences is the
only effective experience that educators should use in transferring
knowledge to the learner. The experiences in each stages can be mixed
and are interrelated thus, a balance must be achieved between concrete
and abstract experiences in order to cater the and address all the need
of the learner in all the domains of development and in order to help
each learner in their holistic development.
Roles of Educational Technology in Learning
• It serves as aid for us to know how to use the technology in
learning because without the knowledge about this, its
useless.
• We can learn more what, when, where to use the
technology.
• It serves as a partner in the learning process.
• Educational Technology can improve our known knowledge
about technology.
Roles of Technology in Learning
• It serves as a source of information or information vehicle.
• Sometimes it serves as our tutor.
• Use this as a tool to present a lesson.
• It serves as an information vehicle which delivers the
needed knowledge that we are searching.
• Through technology we can present our ideas and thoughts
to a wide range of people and can converse with them to
improve our ideas with we can call brainstorming using
technology
Personal Reflection: Learning through
Educational Technology II
• As a college student, learning through
Educational Technology II is good and
interesting because I can use the technology as
I learn new things. It helps me a lot when it
comes to gathering information, making a
presentation by the use of power point
presentation, and etc.. Learning through this
subject may help all students especially us,
future educators. (Samma, A.)

• Learning through Educational Technology gives
me an opportunity to explore the computer and
also the internet world. It is also a subject that
helps me or us to understand the technology
well, so that we use in our study and in the
future. (Cinco, C.)
Personal Reflection: Learning through
Educational Technology II
• Educational technology is not just a subject or a medium that
we need for our studies. It also teaches us a lot of things like
what our ancestors use in their age or time. That without those
stuffs we cannot create a new and effective things that we can
use in our studies, because technology is not just the computer
that we all know it is more than that. So Educational
Technology taught me a lot of things not just about computers
but on how we or I should give importance to the things that is
produced in the past, generally. (Buscano, C.)
Students After Educational Technology II
• As a future teacher, after taking this subject I know that I can
apply the learnings that I have especially when presenting my
lesson in class. I can now create or present a good presentation
that will motivate my students. And the most important thing is
that I can’t just rely on only one source like books to gather
information I can gather more information that I needed through
the use of technology. (Samma, A.)

• After study the Educational Technology, I know I have more
knowledge about technology which I can apply on the task that
needs the touch of technology like doing a powerpoint
presentation etc. As a future teacher, I need to improve my skills
in technology so that I can share it to my future students and to

• After learning things about Educational Technology I
know that I have now the knowledge that I needed in
the future and I know that I need to sharpen this
knowledge to be useful someday. This subject made us
to be a knowledgeable student and to be determined to
try and not to be afraid to learn new things. For us to
get out on our comfort zone and to do new things that

  • 3. STUDENT’S BIOGRAPHY Christine Faith Buscano was born on October 5, 1998 in Brooke’s Point, Palawan. Daughter of Mr. June Buscano and Mrs. Ma. Olivia Buscano. Her father is a church minister while her mother is a teacher. She has a brother named Jedidiah Buscano. Faith is a family oriented because she knows that her family members are always be there to support as she reaches for her dreams in life. She graduated at Paratungon Elementary School and Brooke’s Point National High School. Currently, she is studying Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English at Palawan State University- Brooke’s Point. Faith works very hard, she does not let any obstacles break her. She hopes that someday she will be a good, effective and efficient teacher that will produce oriented, hardworking and dedicated students that will help the community.
  • 4. Amy Rose Samma was born on August 15, 1999 in Mainit Brooke’s Point, Palawan. She is the eldest daughter of Mr. Ambring Samma and Mrs. Rosemary Samma. A very responsible and loving daughter and sister to her siblings. She graduated at Mainit Elementary School and Brooke’s Point National High School. And currently studying Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics at Palawan State University – Brooke’s Point. STUDENT’S BIOGRAPHY
  • 5. Christian Mark Cinco was born on October 19, 1998 in Brgy. Pangobilian, Brooke’s Point, Palawan. He is the son of Mr. Gabriel David Cinco and Mrs. Sheirlet Delgado Cinco. He is a lovable, hardworking and responsible son to his parents. STUDENT’S BIOGRAPHY He graduated his elementary at Maranan Elementary School and his high school at Aramaywan National High School. Currently, he is studying Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino at Palawan State University – Brooke’s Point.
  • 6. WHAT IS EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY? • Educational Technology involves the disciplined application of knowledge for the purpose of improving learning, instruction and/or performance. (Michael Spector) • Educational technology is a systematic, iterative process for designing instruction or training used to improve performance. (The Encyclopedia of Educational Technology) • Educational technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate technological processes and resources. (The Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT))
  • 7. TECHNOLOGY: BOON OR BANE  Technology is widely used by people nowadays. It is a blessing for man. With it we can do a lot of things that we can’t do in the past. Technology really helps us to improve our community. But technology is bane if we do not use it properly.  According to Mr. Cinco, technology is boon because it helps people to make the task easier. But it could be a bane if we abuse the use of it. Therefore, technology can be a boon or a bane depending on how the user uses it.

Systematic Approach  A process used to determine the viability of a project or procedure based on the experiential application of clearly defined and repeatable steps and an evaluation of the outcomes. The goal of a systematic approach is to identify the most efficient means to generate consistent, optimum results.  The approach that is methodical, repeatable and able to be learned by a step-by-step procedure.

Conceptual Model of Learning It is said that there is an existence of number of models and theories about learning that is ideal in achieving instructional goal through preferred application of Educational Technology. These are: • Meaningful Learning •Discovery Learning •Generative Learning •Constructivism
  • 10. • Meaningful Learning Meaningful Learning gives focus to new experience that departs from the learning of a sequence of words but gives attention to meaning. It assumes that students already have prior knowledge that is relevant to new learning. And students are willing to perform class work to find connection between what they already know and what they can learn.
  • 11. • Discovery Learning This is differentiated from reception (meeting point of meaningful and discovery learning) in which ideas are presented to students in a well- organized way, such as through detailed set of instructions to complete an experiment. Ever recalled why you are so nervous, yet very excited in doing experiments? It is because of the idea that you are about to discover something first hand. In discovery learning, students perform tasks to uncover what is to be learned. New ideas and new decisions are generated in the learning process, regardless of the need to move on and depart from the structured lesson previously set. In here, it is important that the students become personally engaged and NOT subjected by the teacher.
  • 12. • Generative Learning We have active listeners who attend to learning events and generate meaning from this experience and draw inferences thereby creating a personal model of explanation to the new experience in the context of existing knowledge. This is viewed as different from the simple process of storing information. Motivation and responsibility are crucial to this domain of learning. Examples are result driven; creativity and resiliency. This gives emphasis to what can be done with the pieces of information not only on access to them.
  • 13. • Constructivism The learner builds a personal understanding through appropriate learning activities and a good learning environment. The most accepted constructivism principles are: • Learning consists in what a person can actively assemble for himself and not what he can just ask from someone else. • Role of learning is to help the individual live to his personal world.
  • 14. New Bloom’s Taxonomy of Thinking Skills Bloom's Revised Taxonomy
  • 15. • Lorin Anderson, a former student of Bloom, and David Krathwohl revisited the cognitive domain in the mid-nineties and made some changes, with perhaps the three most prominent ones being (Anderson, Krathwohl, Airasian, Cruikshank, Mayer, Pintrich, Raths, Wittrock, 2000): • changing the names in the six categories from noun to verb forms • rearranging them as shown in the chart below • creating a processes and levels of knowledge matrix • This new taxonomy reflects a more active form of thinking and is perhaps more accurate.
  • 16. • Remembering - Recall or retrieve previous learned information. • Understanding - Comprehending the meaning, translation, interpolation, and interpretation of instructions and problems. State a problem in one's own words. • Applying - Use a concept in a new situation or unprompted use of an abstraction. Applies what was learned in the classroom into novel situations in the work place.
  • 17. • Analyzing - Separates material or concepts into component parts so that its organizational structure may be understood. Distinguishes between facts and inferences. • Evaluating - Make judgments about the value of ideas or materials. • Creating - Builds a structure or pattern from diverse elements. Put parts together to form a whole, with emphasis on creating a new meaning or structure.

Edgar Dale's Cone of Experience • Dale’s Cone of Experience is a visual model that is composed of eleven (11) stages starting from concrete experiences at the bottom of the cone then it becomes more and more abstract as it reach the peak of the cone. Also, according to Dale, the arrangement in the cone is not based on its difficulty but rather based on abstraction and on the number of senses involved. The experiences in each stages can be mixed and are interrelated that fosters more meaningful learning. • It is also said that the more senses that are involved the better learning will be attained but it does not mean that concrete experiences is the only effective experience that educators should use in transferring knowledge to the learner. The experiences in each stages can be mixed and are interrelated thus, a balance must be achieved between concrete and abstract experiences in order to cater the and address all the need of the learner in all the domains of development and in order to help each learner in their holistic development.

Roles of Educational Technology in Learning • It serves as aid for us to know how to use the technology in learning because without the knowledge about this, its useless. • We can learn more what, when, where to use the technology. • It serves as a partner in the learning process. • Educational Technology can improve our known knowledge about technology.

Roles of Technology in Learning • It serves as a source of information or information vehicle. • Sometimes it serves as our tutor. • Use this as a tool to present a lesson. • It serves as an information vehicle which delivers the needed knowledge that we are searching. • Through technology we can present our ideas and thoughts to a wide range of people and can converse with them to improve our ideas with we can call brainstorming using technology

Personal Reflection: Learning through Educational Technology II • As a college student, learning through Educational Technology II is good and interesting because I can use the technology as I learn new things. It helps me a lot when it comes to gathering information, making a presentation by the use of power point presentation, and etc..   • 24. Personal Reflection: Learning through Educational Technology II • Educational technology is not just a subject or a medium that we need for our studies. It also teaches us a lot of things like what our ancestors use in their age or time. That without those stuffs we cannot create a new and effective things that we can use in our studies, because technology is not just the computer that we all know it is more than that. So Educational Technology taught me a lot of things not just about computers but on how we or I should give importance to the things that is produced in the past, generally. (Buscano, C.)
  • 25. Students After Educational Technology II • As a future teacher, after taking this subject I know that I can apply the learnings that I have especially when presenting my lesson in class. I can now create or present a good presentation that will motivate my students. And the most important thing is that I can’t just rely on only one source like books to gather information I can gather more information that I needed through the use of technology. (Samma, A.)
