‘There is beauty in food and we need to learn how to harvest it.’
oWe know scientific evidence supports the connection between food & health.
oBy changing the products you use on your skin and the foods you eat you can influence and radically
improve the way you look and feel and your attitude to life.
oFood is brimming with active nutrients to beautify your whole body – tone and tighten your skin, put
a sparkle in your eye, add sheen to your hair and harden your nails, keep your figure lean and
supercharge your energy to get your body functioning efficiently and to do the things you love.
oIt is vital you learn how to build a strong beauty foundation – what to feed your body inside and out
and how to clear your body of the toxin build up.
oWhen you feel better, it shows.
ON THE NATURALS & ORGANIC TABLE

o Consumers are willing more than ever to invest in green science
o Shift in the market place means the ‘crunchy granola’ consumer is
no longer the only person likely to invest in organic.
o Little proof behind most marketing claims for natural products
o Consumer confusion on content of organic...due to variations of
certification, logo’s industry and country standards.
o Clean beauty is going mainstream. On the catwalks at Fashion

BEAUTY INGREDIENTS FACTS ARE…
We can no longer view the skin as an
impermeable shield: what goes on goes in.
Nicotine & medical patches have been designed to
dose their active ingredients through your skin. It
is a permeable barrier subject to the toxicity of
the ingredients we bath it in.

#beautynutrition 101 #foodactives
beauty nutrition 101
o Beauty nutrition is about understanding the connection between food and the health
and look of your skin, hair, nails, and eyes, your energy levels, mood and actions.
o The nutrients in foods, from Vitamin A, C and E to minerals such as iron and zinc are
powerful anti-oxidants that neutralize free radicals that form in your skin due to the
stresses of poor diet, toxins, smoking and exposure to the sun. Your body needs these
nutrients including enzymes, proteins, carbs, fats, and anti-inflammatories in order to
work properly and give you the glowing healthy appearance, strong nails and lustrous
hair you crave.
o Food can do more for our overall beauty than any expensive serums or botox will ever
do, when used in combination – eaten and applied you are giving your body the best
recipe to be its most beautiful.
o There is an overwhelming array of information on what role nutrients
have related to health.
o It’s harder to find out their role in all things beauty.
o Feed your skin 2 ways:
o I have compiled a “Beauty Nutrients” table detailing ailments such as dry
skin, pimples or the sign of ageing.
o Cleansing, nourishing and beautifying recipes are simple to make.
o Eating for beauty is not a regime or elimination diet – it’s just fresh,
beautiful food without additives, ideally organic.
o Foods are not highly processed, are low in sugar, high in variety and
colour, fibre and essential fatty acids.
o It’s mindful eating.
EATING FOR BEAUTY, LOVE &
10 ways to nourish your body
inside + out
1. Eat healthy fats and foods rich essential fatty acids
2. Eat at least 5-7 serves of fruit a day
3. Hydrate – at least a litre of water a day (ideally 2)
4. Go slow on sugar – it ages your skin
5. Reduce stress – it is one of the worst skin ageing culprits
6. Drink green tea daily for its anti ageing antioxidants
7. Don’t eat processed foods. Avoid additives.
8. Ramp up your probiotics – yoghurt or cultured foods
9. Ensure your diet is fibre rich
10.Keep your skin care simple and pure
DIY beauty recipes
“One of the best ways of limiting the amount of chemicals you put on your
body is by making your own skincare products.” Cindy Luken

o Green juicing + smoothie craze – it will turn to ‘eating for beauty’
o Convenience: would you be able to eat all of this one sitting: a handful of

unique and important micronutrients that help provide varying enzymes,

WHAT’S BEAUTY JUICE?
#beautyjuice #greensmoothie #juice
o Juicing is a faster, more efficient way to absorb nutrients naturally as when in a liquid form and
drunk on an empty stomach they are said to be more easily digested. It also provides a more
efficient way to access digestive enzymes and nutrients typically locked away in the fibre matrix of
whole fruits and vegetables. And because they are RAW, they are LIVE
o 1 in 2 Australians get TWO OR LESS serves of fruit and vegetables in a day (Australian Dietary
Guidelines recommend 7, as you know). More startling, almost one million Australian adults
(3.8%) have absolutely NO fruits or vegetables each day. Gen Y is four times more likely than
Baby Boomers to eat no veggies a day. And most Australians eat sugar-laden cereal for breakfast,
with 1 in 4 choosing white toast. Source: Vitamix 7@7 Breakfast Survey Findings. Download the
