4. Q1. Identify the English musician known for being part
of a famous rock band. In which UNESCO Heritage Site
was this album recorded? For donations
On the following slide, you will see snippets of the studio that was built
inside a complex to record a passionate project featuring artists from
India, Israel and England.
According to the artists involved, the reason why the album was recorded
here was to have a less polished sound. The location also gave the tracks
a natural reverb.

8. Q2. Which ad is this?
For donations
Shown here is a snippet from the shooting of this iconic ad created by
Ogilvy in 2009. A sequel ad of sorts, the idea was to have a narration of a

Jeilachmee Appadorai, a Malaysia based South Indian model who has
learned Bharatnatyam and other Indian classical dances, was found
perfect for the job because of the expressive quality that was required.

12. Q3. Who is being talked about?
For donations
A few months ago, the government had announced that India is
targeting to export 10-15 million tonnes of wheat and fill a part of the
supply void created by the Russia-Ukraine war. However, it had to take a
U-turn after realizing the crop size is smaller than estimated. It was
found out that one reason for the erroneous prediction is the usage of
an archaic system.
Turns out India still relies on this system developed centuries ago by a
high ranking noble. Other contribution of this person involves the
introduction of a land survey and settlement system, new taxation
system and standard weights and measures.
15. Q4. Which song is this?
For donations
The title of this song from a movie released little over a decade ago pays
tribute to a singer and actor who is considered the first superstar of the
Hindi film industry. To record the song, music director Ram Sampath
decided to get a dubbing artist instead of a singer for the vocals.
18. Q5. What location was chosen for these experiments, a
place that was closed a couple of decades ago, but
whose name remains popular for other reasons? For donations
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research sponsored a series of
experiments in the second half of 20th century. During these
experiments, some unusual events were observed which have remained
unexplained to this day.
While at that time the events were understood to be possibly due to the
decay of a massive unknown particle, later studies point in direction to
the presence of Dark Matter, which was unknown at the time.
21. Q6. Who is this 19th Century Philosopher? Who was
speaking about him and the Buddha in Kathmandu in
1956? For donations
In the later part of his life, he spent a lot of time studying and writing about
Buddhism and its viability in the contemporary world.
In a speech delivered in Kathmandu in 1956, he drew comparisons between
the teachings of the Buddha and the ideas of another modern revolutionary
thinker and philosopher who was born 2831 years after Gautam's death.
Similarities between the two thought systems have also been drawn by other
writers and publications since then, and it has largely been opined that
Buddhism indeed has a soul connection with the ideas of this 19th Century
philosopher.
24. Q7. Which horrifying incident? Whose speech acted
as the trigger?
For donations
Quit India 1983 Bashbari is a poem in Assamese by Miya poet and legislator
Ashraful Hussain. It is written in first person perspective, about experiences in a
foreigners’ tribunal. The title of the poem is a reference to an almost 40-year-old
event that remains one of the defining pieces of the Bengali-Muslim experience in
Assam.
Although communal tensions and xenophobia were already high in the area due
to the Assam Movement, it is often speculated that actual large-scale damage
would not have occurred if not for a highly charged election speech by a
personality often seen as the moderate mask of an otherwise fascist organisation.
27. Q8. Who was this student? Who is Dutt’s much more
famous cousin?
For donations
The Star Theatre in Kolkata is one of the oldest institutions of commercial theatre
in the city, and was also one of the two places to first screen motion pictures in the

the theatre. During this time, he was approached by a young vocalist who sought
to learn instrumental music from Dutt. Dutt agreed and took him under his
tutelage, and taught him to play multiple instruments.
Dutt himself was an acclaimed musician but despite his achievements he is a
mostly forgotten figure today. He isn’t even the most famous person in his family,
as that position is occupied by his cousin who created ripples with his skills a few
years after Dutt took his aforementioned student in.

rejected because it was of "foreign origin", and the community was asked
to choose something else. But in defiance, they decided to publish a

approached because of the novelty of their equipment, as the head of the project
wanted his work to stand out from what had been made elsewhere so far.
However, it was later found out that their equipment ended up carrying sounds of
the rain and other commotions, which rendered their recordings unusable. In the
end, the pioneer had to re-record all the portions himself, under a day, which he
achieved by modulating his voice variously.
