- [variation of the cloud blueprint slide] We’re hitting the market as IT teams are being pounded with increased scale and decreasing budgets. This in turn drives data center deployments built on cloud principles: generic infrastructure, converged operational teams, and integrated tool chains. Servers have already gone through this transition and networking is joining. With companies like Google and Amazon leading the way, the cloud blueprint has been laid out. We’re heading towards a world of converged administrative teams where sysadmins can manage the network and network admins can manage systems.
- For the last 20 years, enterprises have looked at Wall Street to define the IT stack. Over time that stack has refined itself into VMware, Cisco, and EMC. Then along came the today’s web giants. Companies who’ve build their businesses, and their IT stacks, in the information age. The Wall Street solutions were too constrained in scope and scale thus the the Web IT titans have built their own using the fundamentals of computer science, distributed systems, and scale out hardware.
