1. So which are the top 10 online document sharing websites? I wanted to know this for quite
sometime now since I know about Scribd, DocStoc and SlideShare already but there are many
other names floating around on the internet such as Issuu, eDocr, weSRCH, Twidox, Live
Documents etc.
I chose the 10 most common names found on internet for online document sharing websites and
checked some statistics on them. First, let’s familiarize ourselves what these document sharing
websites are all about, where are the differences etc.
1. Scribd.com – Scribd is a social publishing site where people share original writings
and documents. Scribd’s vision is to liberate the written word
2. SlideShare.net – SlideShare is the world’s largest community portal for sharing
presentations. Upload presentations on SlideShare & share on blogs, Twitter, Facebook
or LinkedIn. They also supports documents, PDFs, and videos.
3. DocStoc.com – DocStoc is a community for people to find and share professional
documents (free legal and business documents)
4. Issuu.com – Issuu is a leading digital publishing platform that delivers exceptional
reading experience of magazines, catalogs and newspapers
5. Screencast.com – It’s a free online storage and sharing website providing you 2 GB of
free storage and 2 GB of free bandwidth every month. They claim not to compress, alter
or take ownership of your content
6. eDocr.com – eDocr provides a highly interactivity environment to publish and
distribute any organization’s public documents across the Internet
2. 7. ThinkFree.com – ThinkFree provides a documentation platform for internet-based
file sharing and storage. ThinkFree Office is a Microsoft Office compatible application
suite comprised of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation graphics software – all
usable online and offline.
8. weSRCH.com – weSRCH.com com is a virtual science forum for professionals from
fields of High Tech, Green Tech, and Medicine. weSRCH is also a trade journal/forum
to keep you up to date with latest news, trends, and events
9. Twidox.com – Website to upload, share and find documents or create an organization
profile.
10. Live-Documents.com – They are a web-enabled office productivity suite (word
processing, spreadsheets, presentations, mail) that can be used as software on your
desktop or as services within your browser whether you are online or offline.
