Two years ago, one of the clinical sites made their
course available 'online' by using Brightspace solely
as a repository to store all of their documentation.
Residents were not engaged or motivated to go
through the abundant material uploaded into
Brightspace.

In March of 2015, I was assigned to this project to apply active learning
strategies to the content.
I wanted to know more about the Learning Management System and
the educational technologies available at McGill University and reached
out to Teaching and Learning Services and consulted with a Learning
Technology Consultant.

Importance of instructional design for self-paced and self-directed learning to

Effective sequencing of material with surveys, videos, reading material; and
technology decisions
Importance of the relationship with the Instructional Designer and creating a
Champion within the Department.
