US Department of Defense, Program Lead – Countermine & Unexploded Ordnance Detection Research & Developments –
Humanitarian Demining Program (HD), Fibertek Inc., (March 2008 – Dec 2014) Dec 2014 – Present
• Team leader responsible for the research, development, execution, and program management of a multitude of demining, battle area
clearance, and mine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) detection technologies.
• Develop, execute, and manage substantialbudgetary plans in excess of $4 million USD yearly.
• Provide global electrical, mechanical and technical engineering support to a vast inventory of land mine and UXO clearance
and detection vehicle platforms, including their various implements, sensors,and electronics.
• Lead Program Manager for all Cambodia based UXO detection assets and personnel.Includes,three UXO detection platforms
and otherarea preparation equipment, tools, and resources.
• Act as contract officer representative (COR) for an R&D contract with a taskorder value of $8 million USD.
• Responsible for the development of an Internet Protocol (IP) based remote monitoring and camera systemover the course of several
years including its software, hardware, user interface and network design. The systemprovides a significant cost savings,safety
measures, and performance advantage to the end user and US Government.
• Experienced in the field of spectrumand frequency analysis as it pertains to radio frequency interference, thus reducing risk to highly
sensitive equipment and field operations.
• Experienced in the flight control and operation, maintenance, and repair of man-portable fixed wing and quadrotor,commercially
available, UAS systems along with basic knowledge of 3D photogrammetry and aerial survey principles.
• Lead project engineer for the US Army’s evaluation of the Applied Research Associates Nighthawk fixed wing UAS which included
operation and setup of the aircraft, ground-station,and its ancillaries.
• Execute strict software and hardware debugging and testing related to electromagnetic induction sensorsystems,including sen sor
algorithm development and testing.
• Conduct systemtesting and setting specifications for CAN-BUS controlled systems in the field of robotics and tele-operated machinery.
• Aided in the development of Geographical Information Systems which will be used to further advance the efficiency of demining
operations around the world.
• Experience and knowledge in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting ofmore than a dozen remote, autonomous,and man
operated vehicle systems,both air and ground based.
• Research and development of potential vehicle platforms, implements, tools, and items to support humanitarian demining activities.
• Develop field ready support packages for the Operational Field Evaluations (OFEs) of various platforms around the world.
• Develop and execute detailed equipment, ancillaries, and software training plans to foreign militaries, non-government
organizations, and other Humanitarian Demining Program partners.
• Develop and provide highly detailed test reports of mechanical and mine and UXO detection platforms, tools, an d equipment.
